Unfortunately, in our 2 party system that "seat" often has more power and meaning than the person in it. This is especially true in the Senate. If one believes in Republican ideals (as I do) a majority of seats in Congress often means more than who the President is. Plus, saves me time... I'm in and outta that voting booth likety-split... one pull!
