Mrs. Edwards needs all of our prayers. We cannot do a thing about her low life husband. My heart goes out to her. To be betrayed is horrible. I cannot imagine what she must be going thru having cancer on top of all of it. All of their money has not brought either of them happiness. So sad. Prayers are the most valuable tribute we can offer.

However. I thought Edwards was a decent man.

I had breast cancer four years ago and it is not only frightening and awful to deal with, but you are disfigured and your sexuality is at least temporarily maimed depending on the response of your husband or partner. The very last thing that I would have needed at that point is for my husband to have a NEW sexual relationship with someone. It would have made me feel that I was absolutely neutered, worthless, betrayed, abandoned, ready to die.

Elizabeth Edwards has had a recurrence of the damned disease now. It doesn't look good for her.

I am just so discouraged with all this.

This is so sad. I am so hurt that someone that appeared to be genuine is a loser. At least in my book.
Gracie, more than anything, that's was exactly MY first thought. How could he, at her time of need. Its when we are hurting the most, that we expect our other halves to be there for us, to nurture, encourage, care for us in the manner in which we would do for them. This really hit home for me and I'm very sad for Elizabeth. I was sorry for her when she first became ill and now that the prognosis is so grim, I'm sorry that she can't rely on the one person that she thought would be there for her. She must not only be in physical pain but the emotional pain must be overwhelming.

I've never been one to be afraid to admit when I'm wrong. I did very much like John Edwards and never thought he could be as low as to have an affair while his wife is suffering like that. I believe there's a special place in hell for people like this.

Infidelity on all levels is despicable. There are no words to express my deep sorrow for Mrs. Edwards. Also, the "other woman" is not blameless in this either. They probably deserve each other. I think his career is pretty much over. And if it's not, it should be.

My prayers are with Mrs. Edwards. She deserves much much better.

Chels, I was very impressed with John Edwards, thought of him as a great family man, loving husband, and therefore someone in politics that I could look up to. This has nothing to do with our political preferences, this is just as a human to a human, and I think what he did was totally despicable. Poor Mrs. Edwards.

He got carried away with his pretty face and money.............by his own admission. My heart aches for his wife.

I don't see why anyone should be surprised by this news. The man made his name and fortune as a trial lawyer, and purportedly among the lowest of those creatures.
