Default Jon Stewart, War Criminals & The True Story of the Atomic Bombs

Jon Stewart, while discussing war crimes and abuses, recently stated that Harry Truman was a war criminal for using the atomic bomb against Japan. Stewart's view is shared by many other liberals. The following response is 17 minutes. If you have an interest in WWII, the time, and patience, it is the best 17 minutes of research and historic insight I have invested in for a long time. if not....skip the link.

CABO...that was inspirational...absolutely wonderful !!!

All I will pass on is this....

There are folks who rely on Jon Stewart for actual news. There is NO RESPONSIBLITY for Stewart or for anyone on the net or tv to actually know anything about history before passing judgement.

To those reading this.....if you want to understand HISTORY...if you want to understand the mindset of some like Stewart...you gotta watch this wonderful clip that CABO has brought to us !

Thank you CABO

Jon Stewart is a comedian, and a mediocre one at that. Just because so many of our brilliant fellow-citizens rely upon him for news does not make him a newsman and certainly not an authority on history, warfare, or ethics. I'd put as much faith in the beliefs of Richard Simmons.

Wow....what an insult to Richard Simmons putting Stewart on the same level as him. You really know how to hurt a guy......

Default Jon Stewart?

Jon Stewart is a comedian. His show is broadcast on The Comedy Channel. Like many others on the left and right, Stewart makes his living being an entertainer. There are several people who have regular shows on both major and less well-known cable and broadcast networks that fall into this category.

Does anyone truly rely on any entertainers such as this for information that might be valuable in forming thoughtful political opinion? If so, we're in a lot deeper trouble than I thought we were.

I do not want this to become a habit; ie. agreeing with you but you are correct. I am so tired of hearing Limbaugh quoted....Olberman quoted and during the campaign it was exasperating having people talk on here about Stewart or one of the others.

You are correct..they are entertainers...I can not imagine holding a party responsible for any of their remarks as happened with this Supreme Court nominee !

Many years ago I visited Hiroshima and it's memorial to the bombing. A European woman in close proximity made the statement, "This is horrible. What could justify this?" I asked her, "Have you asked that question to a Filipino, Korean or Chinese who lived through World War II? The silence was deafening....

Yes, it seems history has been more charitable to the Japanese then the Germans. People love to ride the hate wagon of Hitler and the Germans but tend to give the Japanese a free pass. Thing is that the Japanese were every bit as vicious as the Germans and maybe even more.
Disclaimer: My statement in no way reflects the good people of both nations who still have to carry the burden of their ancestors. I was only referring to the time in history between the 1930's to the end of WWll. I personally hold no grudges but my father(WWll Vet) would not buy a Japan made car and gave me alot of grief because I have owned a few.
