There were four Democrats and one Republican. McCain and John Glenn were cleared of any wrong doing. What's your point??

Your expected sarcasm aside, if you read about the situation, Sen McCain admits to bad judgement in attending a meeting. Once he realized what was going on and being discussed, he got up and walked directly out of a meeting.
Subsequent panels found NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER of wrong doing ! This association by Sen McCain is a dot on the radar compared to the many questionable associations by Sen Obama. Lets see....Sen McCain gets up and walks out of a meeting up front....Sen Obama spends TWENTY YEARS, donates many thousands of dollars, calls the pastor a PERSONAL mentor and leaves the church that is a black activist church ONLY after being embarrassed TWICE ! Would you like to hear more about Sen Obama's associations ? |

Quote:
"McCain and Keating had become personal friends following their initial contacts in 1981, and McCain was the closest socially to Keating of the five senators. Like DeConcini, McCain considered Keating a constituent as he lived in Arizona. Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received $112,000 in political contributions from Keating and his associates. In addition, McCain's wife Cindy McCain and her father Jim Hensley had invested $359,100 in a Keating shopping center in April 1986, a year before McCain met with the regulators. McCain, his family, and their baby-sitter had made nine trips at Keating's expense, sometimes aboard Keating's jet. Three of the trips were made during vacations to Keating's opulent Bahamas retreat at Cat Cay. McCain did not pay Keating (in the amount of $13,433) for some of the trips until years after they were taken, when he learned that Keating was in trouble over Lincoln." |

TO JAVA....CHELSEA confuses discussing issues like associations of a candidate with no experience to look at, with her snide, immature comments always intended to bring somebody (poster or candidate) down personally. She thinks making fun of people is discussing politics.
Last couple days I have backed off simply because of her....I did make a comment on this Keating thing she started because she ONLY grasps the surface of anything without any investigation, as when she posted the cut and paste video and called it fact. But be careful she has a crew of a few others who trail around and take shots at you and defend her. Glad to know I am not the only one who recognizes her posts. |

Why?
Bucco, you bring these things up. What? You don't want to know McCain's associates? How about Phil Gramm? That's an interesting association.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/0...t_n_82529.html I believe Phil Gramm is the one that said the recession was "Mental" and that "America is a nation of whiners." I find this association very interesting. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/0..._n_111857.html The market is down 400 points again today. Phil Gramm was part of the foundation for this. Don't you find his association with McCain "scary". You should. http://windycityguide.blogspot.com/2...ham-still.html And Bucco, you can talk about me, but don't talk about my friends. You're very big on this "association" thing, aren't you. |

Take peek that this... Gramm was one of five co-sponsors of the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000[3]. One provision of the bill was referred to as the "Enron loophole" because the House Agriculture Committee drafted it and it was later applied to Enron. Some critics blame the provision for permitting the Enron scandal to occur.[4] At the time, Gramm's wife was previously on Enron's board of directors. Later in his Senate career, Gramm spearheaded efforts to pass banking reform laws, including the landmark Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act in 1999, which served to reduce government regulations in existence since the Great Depression separating banking, insurance and brokerage activities. Years later, critics of Gramm point out that this same legislation may have been pivotal in encouraging the corporate practices that led to the 2008 mortgage crises in America.[5] Between 1995 and 2000 Gramm, who was the chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, received $1,000,914 in campaign contributions from the Securities & Investment industry.[6] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Gramm |

1. CHELSEA...COLOGAL....I am not sure what Phil Gramm has to do with the Keating Five
2. COLOGAL...check your facts..I do not believe he was censured but if you can supply a valid link to show that I will accept it. 3. CHELSEA....yes, I am big on associations and if you recall I made it clear at the outset that Sen Obama's associations were of greater issue to me because he does not have 26 years as a senator to visit and call upon. That was my point despite what you try to make it. Does Sen McCains associations and actions count...YES..never said they didn't....I also made that clear. 4. As an afterthought of kind....if you really want me to ever read a link, dont give me Huffington post....that, TO ME, is not valid...and before you rant and rave AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE TO YOU...neither are the right wing sites. You folks SEEM to have become so jaded and so partisan you cannot have any kind of discussion. I have said it on here many many times I am not a big fan of Sen McCains...I have expressed my concerns on this election. You seem compelled to come back with partisan stuff that serves no purpose whatsoever. I probably disagree with Sen McCain on as much as I disagree with Sen Obama and have said that, but you only hear what you want to hear. |

My understanding COLOGAL....there were some censures but he and another senator were reported in the investigation to have used poor judgement but did nothing to gain censure but will await your link !

Actually, and this is not defending anyone, but my memory is that the reports are when he finally realized what was going on, he got up and actually physically left a meeting the others were haveing and said to them "I cant be a part of this"...but again my memory aint what it used to be !
