The title of the thread is "Maryland got some good news today" - no mention of gun ownership.

Some time ago, I discovered a gun in my house.
I'd moved into the house after my adoptive mother's death. She'd mentioned that she got a gun while living in Maine, though I never saw it and assumed it was something she (at best) no longer had. Living in NH and being a law-abiding citizen, I called the local police department to ask them what I had to do. I figured I had to register it or something like that. They told me "Nope. Nothing like that. It's yours. That's all." We don't have gunfights in the streets here. We *do* get stories of people scaring away criminals from time to time. |

Most of the gunfights in Prince George County, Maryland are drug related or gang related. Lots of times, the shooting is a drive-by and an innocent child is shot. Many, many of the guns come from Virginia where there is no limit on the number of guns a person can buy at one time or during each month. I believe Virginia is one of the leading states for providing guns to "bad guys" in the country.
