The title of the thread is "Maryland got some good news today" - no mention of gun ownership.

Some time ago, I discovered a gun in my house.

I'd moved into the house after my adoptive mother's death. She'd mentioned that she got a gun while living in Maine, though I never saw it and assumed it was something she (at best) no longer had.

Living in NH and being a law-abiding citizen, I called the local police department to ask them what I had to do. I figured I had to register it or something like that.

They told me "Nope. Nothing like that. It's yours. That's all."

We don't have gunfights in the streets here. We *do* get stories of people scaring away criminals from time to time.

Most of the gunfights in Prince George County, Maryland are drug related or gang related. Lots of times, the shooting is a drive-by and an innocent child is shot. Many, many of the guns come from Virginia where there is no limit on the number of guns a person can buy at one time or during each month. I believe Virginia is one of the leading states for providing guns to "bad guys" in the country.

That would mean that Viriginia firearms dealers are allowing straw buyers to purchases firearms. This is a violation of many Federal Gun Laws. If this was the case, lots of FFLs (Federal Firearms License) holders would be answering lots of questions and being put out of business. All the guns can be traced back to the original dealer who sold them, so why do you think that VA is the leading dealer in firearms used in Maryland.

Can you provide any prove to your statement?
