what his accountants prepare is legal - at least as far as the irs has seemed to indicate. and where have you heard that romney wants the american taxpayer to pay their fair share - i thought that was obama's line.

if you want to hold a candidate for the office of the president of the united states to a higher standard/example, how should we hold obama to a higher standard/example than the rest of our citizenry who are no more or less american [debate on the latter issue for a different therad ]?

It's doubtful that many posters on this forum have their money stashed in Swiss bank accounts, or the Grand Caymans, or Bermuda, or have 100 million dollar IRA's. Mitt Romney loves this country. He just doesn't want to keep his money here.

but do most posters on this forum take or NOT take the tax deductions to which they ARE entitled?

if mitt gives up some of the legal deductions to which he is entitled, will they follow his example?

or will they not do the same as they want mitt to do until they are a candidate for president?

I sure wish I could....then would have my attorneys and accountants take every break possible. And that last line is not even original !! I read the left leaning sites as well as the right !

Coralway, I agree with Ryan 100%. I'm not for any of those things either.

waiting for substance and yes I do feel a little blue in the face....but will continue....isn't it just amazing the consistency of not answering very simple, to the point questions?

I would think some are embarassed to answer or not allowed or fear reprisal for being honest.
Or something!

Hopefully, any posters on this forum who knew they were about to run for president would move their offshore accounts to US accounts, if for no other reason than to look patriotic. It would have looked better for Mitt Romney if he had done this. Of course, as soon as he loses, he can move them back offshore.

Would that have not been a bit phoney ? I want a president who IS patriotic and ACTS patriotic

Your questions should center on WHY someone who is very rich does in fact, assuming the loud yelling is correct, have such accounts, Look into that and see how easy our tax code makes it, and also how many americans do it, and about the rates.

He is a smart man.....you can chastize him for that all you want..he is still smart and has no guilt trip over his money, nor should he.
