While this particular post does not surprise me, the space used by the Washington Post instead of writing about the problems facing this country does disappoint me a lot.

We should leave both these guys alone on this stuff when deciding who should be President, however....you must find this stuff important for whatever reason...so..

In his memoir, Obama talked about routinely getting high. “Junkie. Pothead,” he wrote. “That’s where I’d been headed: the final, fatal role of the young would-be black man.” But, according to Obama, he only got high because he was contemplating deep matters: drugs could “push questions of who I was out of my mind.”

Obama told students in 2007 that this activity constituted “goofing off” and “wasting time”:

"I will confess to you that I was kind of a goof off in high school as my mom reminded me," Obama said. "I went to high school in Hawaii, so there's a lot of opportunity to goof off because the weather is really good all the time …

"You know, I made some bad decisions …. You know, got into drinking and experimenting with drugs. There was a whole stretch of time where I didn't apply myself. It wasn't until I got out of … high school, and went to college that I started realizing, man, I wasted a lot of time.”

The New York Times, however, went out of its way to find Obama’s classmates to testify that drugs played only a “bit part” in Obama’s youth. Yet Obama would later brag on the campaign trail that he “inhaled frequently … that was the point.”

During his high school years, Obama hung out with communist radical Frank Marshall Davis; in 2007, the Los Angeles Times reported that during his high school days, “he felt the first stirrings of anger toward whites. He says he also delved into black nationalism.” He was “offended or even enraged when white classmates adopted black street slang or revealed their underlying consciousness of his race by going out of their way to tell him how much they admired a black musician or athlete.”

This activity is certainly more reflective of Obama’s ideological history than Mitt Romney’s pranks on teachers and fellow students. And as for the drug use – well, that seems just a bit more serious than walking a teacher into a door or cutting a student’s hair. But leave it to the Post to ignore or downplay all of that in favor of continuing stories about Romney’s dog, his high school hijinks, and whatever other nonsense they can use to protect President Obama from his own incompetence."

And I know this is important stuff to decide how to solve our unemployment problem, the Arab Spring, the debt crisis, the spending, etc......SOOO...lets investigate who was potty trained first. That will surely give us the best indicator of who should be the leader of the free world.

WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF THIS POST PLEASE ? WHAT DOES ANY OF THIS, INCLUDING WHAT I POSTED HAVE TO DO WITH THE PROBLEMS FACING MY COUNTRY ?

It's called vetting the candidate. When you're on the big stage, as Mitt Romney is now, every aspect of his past is going to be investigated. It's a matter of determining what his character is.

I am all for it....couple problems....much of Obama's past is shrouded in mystery or as in the case of at least his college grades...he will not release them. And on others like his associations with dubious characters he just denies and press drops it.

But explain to me what HIGH SCHOOL activities have to do with vetting ?

For example I would never bring up that Obama has changed his stance on same sex marriages...THREE times on the record.....2004...2008....2012. Now lets vet that a bit and see what might be the common factor...OH..WAIT, they were all election years !!!!!

PS...I might add that I used to vet candidates for a living many years ago. No need to explain what it means

Actually the story as presented is beginning to fall apart just a tad. Seems one guy says on thing in the Post and then is reported at ABC as not even being there.

This stuff is so minor league but it just points out that the media controls the show...totally. They made the decision in 2008 and are off and running already.

I know the Repubs have stuff....dont know whether it will be used. If you recall, an option to use some of it was given to McCain and he said he would not run a campaign like that. If necessary I hope they just let it all go...but would much prefer the decision be made on who can get this country back to work.....and who best to handle the economics.

I will spend a few minutes on this although it is such a little kids game.

Will share a few things.....counting skeletons in the closet is NOT something the Obama campaign wants or needs. Enough said on that ! sorry, buggyone, can't agree here. bringing up a romney issue such as this begs for a tit-for-tat response. in this case, the newspaper [obama campaign?] is attempting to discredit romney; and has since run into a prob since one of those alleged to have been at the scene personally denies the event. same cannot be said about the high school drinking and dope smoking by obama since it was personally written by himself in his memoir! can't claim that it did not happen - unless the pres can come up with another lame excuse like he has re julia, the composite.
