Billie, you don't have to agree with everything this President has done. I know I sure don't. But to say that all he does is talk with no resultant action appears to intentionally ignore the facts for the purpose of slandering the individual. |

VK my intent is not ever to slander ONLY present my opinion
or viewpoint. And of course biased as most of us are. And in the heat of presenting a position will over emphasize a position.
I personally view the accomplishment of removal of troops from Iraq as a wait and see. Troop reduction...yes...done. Providing health care for millions...the proposed concept of which is rejected by the majority of we the people. And the real costs or real provisions and totally unknown at this point in time. My opinion, right or wrong is he does not deliver on far too many proposals made or promises kept. btk |

Obama
Villages Kahuna I have to say that you are an optimist. Despite a pledge for transparceny Obama strong armed his Democratic majority behind closed doors to pass a bill that has been actively litigated found to be unconstitutional, along with better than half the population against it because they know it is cost prohbited, not to mention the medical communities concerns. We are not out of Iraq yet and I venture a guess that our policy will replicate our position in North Korea. There are better than 9.3% of the population whom might disagree that the economy is humming along. The corporate world is sitting on millions and millions of dollars fearful to invest. The auto industry bailout ignored the rights of stockholder snad bondholders and rewared the UAW whom was given a % of the corporation and demanded one year later for return of concessions they made during the bail out. The EPA is attempting to control an element that is contained in every can or bottle of soda, Obama, et al won't allow further exploration of oil or natural gas that would permanently eliminate our dependency on imports from countries that in actuality hate us. A policy by tbe way that is going to create high level inflation again which will have a direct affect on retirees like you and me. Finally we have a debt larger than all previous adminsitrations combined. We need to eliminate the Departments of Energy, Education, IRS, EPA and reorganize the SEC, FCC. I do agree with you on never voting for an incumbent and first on my list is Obama .

Yes, But With A Caveat
Quote:
An opposing candidate who would be attractive to me will have to demonstrate that he or she is pragmatic regarding issues facing the country and espouses priorities that are closer to my beliefs than President Obama. Almost as important is how that opponent might govern. As Peggy Noonan, speechwriter for President Reagan has related, he told her and others on many occasions, "...I'm happy to get 80% of what I want from Congress. I'm not willing to drive the country off a cliff trying to get everything." |

I wonder
I wonder.........since China has been the so called # 1 Economy for Thirteen of the last Sixteen Centuries....what can/should we do to attempt to keep our position as the top economy in the future. Any thoughts....... The economy in China is currently facing some pretty strong inflation. We are about to be hit with some interest payments to China that we can not meet...let alone sustain in the short term. My kids are learning to speak Mandarin ...( something about long term job security?.) Things that we get from China are getting more expensive every day. Now what.....Any scholars of macro-economics out there in TOTV land......... I just heard that the manufacturer of COACH purses is moving their Chinese manufacturing facilities to Vietnam and India because it is less expensive.
