Default No matter your politics this sucks....

"Justice Department political appointees overruled career lawyers and ended a civil complaint accusing three members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense of wielding a nightstick and intimidating voters at a Philadelphia polling place last Election Day, according to documents and interviews.

The incident - which gained national attention when it was captured on videotape and distributed on YouTube - had prompted the government to sue the men, saying they violated the 1965 Voting Rights Act by scaring would-be voters with the weapon, racial slurs and military-style uniforms.

Career lawyers pursued the case for months, including obtaining an affidavit from a prominent 1960s civil rights activist who witnessed the confrontation and described it as "the most blatant form of voter intimidation" that he had seen, even during the voting rights crisis in Mississippi a half-century ago."

If there is another side to this, PLEASE supply a link because I just dont want to believe it !!

"The career Justice lawyers were on the verge of securing sanctions against the men earlier this month when their superiors ordered them to reverse course, according to interviews and documents. The court had already entered a default judgment against the men on April 20. "

I was just reading an update on this case and a few things in what I read I did not know...

This case was won after lots of work and the Federal Government (Eric Holder) stepped in and squashed it.

The intimidation of voters by these men based on race during the election is now just being ignored.

Wonder how a case involving a member of the KKK (Another hate group) doing the same actions would have been handled.

Why would not the government allow these men to be persecuted ?

I hope folks are following what is happening concerning voting in this country !

I finally viewed the video and was very disturbed by the implications. I wonder how this case would go if you substituted the intimadators in the video with lily white people with pointed hats?

Default Obama's 'Brown Shirts'

By stopping action against these men, President Obama made it plain that he supported what they were doing and hoped to see more of this type of activity going forward. Uniformed thugs at polling places are more reminiscent of Poppa Doc Duvalier in Haiti than any election in a civilized country.
