Mucci....you really don't know what the rest of us were doing on 9-11....you don't know what we consider important...like spending time with our families, calling old friends taking time out of the day to visit the Hacienda center....which was beautiful by the way. We only suggested that we take a break on 9-11....it was not a rule...you are free to do what you want. However this information, while it may be important, if relevant, could have been saved for another hour or so....this was posted at 10pm...who really was going to change their entire life over this article. It was just a matter of respect for our country that we (a lot of us) had agreed to take some time off from politics...and remember 9-11. Personally I felt good about it all day.... Now my response to the article you posted: After reading it many times over...all I can think of is the following....it does NOT state anywhere that he is still employed by the Obama campaign. It states that he has sat in on some conference calls with the group. Let's all read this quote from the article together...shall we: "Asbahi has not stopped working on behalf of Obama, though. He appeared at the luncheon to say that despite his official exit he was still "110%" behind Obama and that he was participating in campaign conference calls on Muslim outreach. Stepping down was a "strategic decision," he told the audience. Asbahi declined to answer IBD questions clarifying his current role." Perhaps....just maybe....I have missed something. He may still be working "on behalf of Obama" but this does not mean Obama has hired him back or is paying him. Everytime I post something on here or have conversation about Obama...I am "working" on behalf of him as well...this is one way to look at that statement. 110% behind Obama....I am 120% behind him...still doesn't mean he is working for him...just supports him. As far as the conference calls...perhaps he was on the line representing the Muslim outreach instead of representing the Obama campaign. the fact that he would NOT comment about his current role may just mean he is embarrassed to have been asked to resign. This is what I took from the article. Everyone interprets the written word differently. This was my interpretation. Boy am I long winded today!! |

CASSIE325....
I really dont want to spend a lot of time on this but your criticism of someone posting here last night is really hard to swallow. You make it seem as if GFMUCCI did something wrong or unpatriotic by posting on this forum. Did anyone, like you, call VILLAGES KAHUNA to task as he BEGAN a couple threads during the day....I know you didnt...perhaps because of his support for Sen Obama ? I dont know....not saying that, but it takes a lot of arrogance to question anyone posting on here because a few folks thought is sounded good not to. I posted here yesterday but also visited church and Hacienda...I lost two good friends in the WTC, served my country for 6 years, and actually served in the Navy in the same wing (4D) as was hit by the plane, and I dont feel one bit guilty for posting here and to post a critique of someone to even suggest that GFMUCCI should feel somehow guilty is just plain not fair. |

CASSIE...first of all...I simply wanted to know why ANYONE would even bring up posting on 9/11....was not sure what purpose it served to do that...cannnot think of ANY frankly, yes I do consider it arrogant to suggest that those who live in the Villages and post on this board should not post because 4 or 5 folks felt that way. You surely had a right to make your feelings known...nobody ever questioned that, but to begin a post by reminding a poster of that is just not fair at all to anyone. That is my opinion as you have yours.
Publicly reminding MUCCI of the wishes of a few folks on this board strikes me as arrogant..my opinion. |

Wow. Bucco, we agree on something. I chose not to post in political yesterday. I would never consider telling someone else they could/should not post on 9/11. A suggestion was made that we not post on 9/11. We all exercised our options on whether to post or not to post. UHoh, Bucco, are you going to rebuke me for being off topic again?
