Mucci....you really don't know what the rest of us were doing on 9-11....you don't know what we consider important...like spending time with our families, calling old friends taking time out of the day to visit the Hacienda center....which was beautiful by the way.

We only suggested that we take a break on 9-11....it was not a rule...you are free to do what you want. However this information, while it may be important, if relevant, could have been saved for another hour or so....this was posted at 10pm...who really was going to change their entire life over this article. It was just a matter of respect for our country that we (a lot of us) had agreed to take some time off from politics...and remember 9-11. Personally I felt good about it all day....

Now my response to the article you posted:

After reading it many times over...all I can think of is the following....it does NOT state anywhere that he is still employed by the Obama campaign. It states that he has sat in on some conference calls with the group.

Let's all read this quote from the article together...shall we:

"Asbahi has not stopped working on behalf of Obama, though. He appeared at the luncheon to say that despite his official exit he was still "110%" behind Obama and that he was participating in campaign conference calls on Muslim outreach.
Stepping down was a "strategic decision," he told the audience. Asbahi declined to answer IBD questions clarifying his current role."

Perhaps....just maybe....I have missed something. He may still be working "on behalf of Obama" but this does not mean Obama has hired him back or is paying him. Everytime I post something on here or have conversation about Obama...I am "working" on behalf of him as well...this is one way to look at that statement.
110% behind Obama....I am 120% behind him...still doesn't mean he is working for him...just supports him.

As far as the conference calls...perhaps he was on the line representing the Muslim outreach instead of representing the Obama campaign. the fact that he would NOT comment about his current role may just mean he is embarrassed to have been asked to resign.

This is what I took from the article. Everyone interprets the written word differently. This was my interpretation.
Boy am I long winded today!!

He has been denounced by Karen Armstrong Young (a former nun, British author, authority on religions, especially the Islam religion) and others.

As to Abashi, even Spencer didn't go so far as to say that Abashi was still employed by Obama or his campaign. "Asbahi has not stopped working on behalf of Obama, though. He appeared at the luncheon to say that despite his official exit he was still '110%' behind Obama and that he was participating in campaign conference calls on Muslim outreach." I would like more information about what his participaton in campaign conference calls involved. If he simply gives advice and is not involved in strategies, etc., I could live with it although I wouldn't particularly like it. If he did more, I'd be very uncomfortable. Being an Obama supporter is certainly within his rights. Regardless, I'd want to hear it from a source other than Spencer. A hatemonger is not someone I put a lot of credence in.

Red...sorry I didn't even read all of yours before I posted mine...seems we agree...sorry didn't want you to thinkI was copying you!

CASSIE325....

I really dont want to spend a lot of time on this but your criticism of someone posting here last night is really hard to swallow. You make it seem as if GFMUCCI did something wrong or unpatriotic by posting on this forum.

Did anyone, like you, call VILLAGES KAHUNA to task as he BEGAN a couple threads during the day....I know you didnt...perhaps because of his support for Sen Obama ? I dont know....not saying that, but it takes a lot of arrogance to question anyone posting on here because a few folks thought is sounded good not to.

I posted here yesterday but also visited church and Hacienda...I lost two good friends in the WTC, served my country for 6 years, and actually served in the Navy in the same wing (4D) as was hit by the plane, and I dont feel one bit guilty for posting here and to post a critique of someone to even suggest that GFMUCCI should feel somehow guilty is just plain not fair.

This information was provided by Robert Spencer, an Islamic scholar and well respected advocate for vigilence against violent Islamic jihad and associated Islamic demands to erode our freedoms.

[Note: I posted this article a couple of days ago but it inexplicably disappeared.]

The article actually says:

"a frequent speaker before several groups in the U.S. that scholars have associated with the Muslim Brotherhood."

So if I understand it some guy who used to be associated with Obama campaign spoke in front of some groups linked to scholars that have been associated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

So far I see 4 degrees of separation. But I think it is time to ask the larger question. When Kennedy ran his religion was a big deal. Most people thought he would turn the country over to the Pope...he didn't. So the question is if Obama was a Muslim, or could be a Muslim what do you expect to happen? Will he try to inforce Islamic law in this country? Will we all have to wear burkas? What will happen?

I do not recall telling Mucci they were unamerican!! I simply stated that out of respect for our country many of us decided to not post and argue in the political forum. THIS WAS OUR OPINION and CHOICE!! OPINIONS AS YOU KNOW ARE NOT ALWAYS SHARED BY EVERYONE...
This does NOT mean that Mucci is Un-American!! those of us that wanted to do it...did it...those of us who wanted to post did!! Travel expressed an opinion and a soft reminder of what we had posted and I explained it just in case it was missed the day before!!

I did not criticize...I was simply explaining what was said by travel about not posting in political forum until midnight....and was also defending the fact the GFMucci was stating that posting the article probably was more important then what we did all day...GF has no idea what any of us did and how important it might have been...that was my point.

I DID NOT READ ANY POSTS FROM ANYONE YESTERDAY AND HAVE JUST STARTED READING THEM....I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHING FROM KAHUNA YET...PERHAPS I WILL SAY THE SAME THING TO HIM...get ready for my arrogant comments Kahuna...

I dont knowyou are RIGHT...you don't know....not saying that, but it takes a lot of arrogance to question anyone posting on here because a few folks thought is sounded good not toAgain I was explaining why travel posted the comment about waiting a few hours and that MANY of us agreed...had nothing to do with arrogance..

God Bless you for what you did yesterday and for our country...I appreciate it and respect you for it...just as I do McCain...but it doesn't mean I have have the same opinion as either of you. You know I respect all veterans and current service members.

CASSIE...first of all...I simply wanted to know why ANYONE would even bring up posting on 9/11....was not sure what purpose it served to do that...cannnot think of ANY frankly, yes I do consider it arrogant to suggest that those who live in the Villages and post on this board should not post because 4 or 5 folks felt that way. You surely had a right to make your feelings known...nobody ever questioned that, but to begin a post by reminding a poster of that is just not fair at all to anyone. That is my opinion as you have yours.

Publicly reminding MUCCI of the wishes of a few folks on this board strikes me as arrogant..my opinion.

Wow. Bucco, we agree on something. I chose not to post in political yesterday. I would never consider telling someone else they could/should not post on 9/11. A suggestion was made that we not post on 9/11. We all exercised our options on whether to post or not to post. UHoh, Bucco, are you going to rebuke me for being off topic again?

You are obviously not "HEARING" me! I was not reminding Mucci of anything! I was explaining why travel said it the previous day! Mucci got very upset at travel...and I was simply explaining what had happened...travel simply said that it would be nice to wait a few hours and I agreed....mostly because Mucci made it sound as if the article was MORE important than what the rest of us were doing for the day....if that had not been said perhaps I would have said anything at all...but I was insulted.

Again...this is what I said:

"We only suggested that we take a break on 9-11....it was not a rule...you are free to do what you want.
