Well based on Obama's comments concerning he and Michelle, it appears that the time Michelle thought was "the only time she was proud of this country" has apparently passed. Clearly Obama and his wife have some issues with the "personal America" vis a vis the "business America" that creates this need to be standoffish.

Just look at what he does at a podium as opposed away from it. Just look what he does when campaigning and then away from it. Clearly he is performing when it comes to being the President/politician

As to the thouht that he is intentionally trying to destroy America, I say nay.

However what is even worse, Obama's agenda, based on his biased idealogy are having unintended consequences.

That is what I see. Perhaps others have a different reading

Obama thinks he is intentionally fixing this country by changing into to the United Socialist States of America.

chachacha, I have lived in Europe, also. Everything you said is true. Unfortunately, we have a President who wants to make America like Europe. For the life of me I don't know why. I guess his upbringing has a lot to do with it.

Read his book-Dreams of My Father" and you will know why he is purposely changing this country.
Read Dinesh D'Souza's book-"The Roots of Obama's Rage" and you will find this type of information-DINESH D’SOUZA: It’s really simple: I figure out how Obama thinks by reading what Obama writes and says. My theory about Obama is really derived from Obama himself. It’s quite silly how people are saying things like, well, Obama didn’t really know his absentee father, so he couldn’t have been influenced by him. Go read his book, starting with the title Dreams from My Father. The whole book is about how Obama shaped his values, personality, and identity in the image of his father. So I took Obama at his word on this and then asked the question, “If Obama took his father’s anti-colonial ideology, how does that help to explain his policies?” Not only it does it explain Obama’s foreign and domestic policy, it also explains lots of little details about Obama’s actions that no other theory can explain.
Somehow he (Obama) has the ability to translate the dreams of his father — a Luo tribesman from the 1950s — into language that mainstream America can understand. So Obama doesn’t say, “I don’t care whether Iran gets a nuclear weapon; my goal is to reduce America’s nuclear arsenal because I consider America to be the world’s rogue nation.” Instead, Obama says, “I want a world free of nuclear weapons.” And the only practical action he takes in this connection is to reduce America’s nuclear arsenal, while North Korean continues its nuclear buildup and Iran continues to move closer to acquiring a nuclear bomb.http://www.nationalreview.com/articl...interview?pg=2
If this isn't enough, do a little research on the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Obama sat under his teaching for 20 years, hearing about how much God should "Damn America". You don't here that stuff week after week 52 week/year for 20 year, approx 1040 sermons, without getting a little angry and gain an ax to grind and a plan with which to do it....

So please explain to me how it is that the stronger EU countries (most notable France and Germany) have lower unemployment? Heck, France counts their unemployed the same way we do but they get benefits for FAR longer - meaning that their unemployment includes many who, if they were unemployed that long in the US, would no longer be counted.

I'm not saying that the EU is the prime model - not AT ALL! What I *am* saying is that there may be some things we could learn (like how to slash our health care bills in half while still keeping private insurance).

Isn't this why OUR unemployment rate is supposedly dropping? I wonder how many are "no longer being counted" ?

The last unemployment figures showed even THAT number was going down. I seem to recall a line in the latest news blurb that said (paraphrasing) "Even the U6 numbers were down to 15.(something) percent". The article went on to explain that "U6" was the figure for people out of work for more than 6 months. I *think* rate was 15.2 but 15.6 sounds familiar to me as well.

djplong...thank you for an intelligent answer to a question that I truly don't think was unwarranted.
