Default Obama blows it while presenting medal of honor

He stands at the podium...then he says...I have to go off script for a minute...
then proceeds to say...."...I really like this guy...". Then resorts back to his part in the play!

He needs a script to present a medal of honor? I am beginning to conclude he only knows (what to say) when using of teleprompters/written speeches for almost everything he does.

As I have said previously there is something new to learn every day just from watching what he says and how how he says it in addition to watching what he does/doesn't do.

I personally expect more speech capability from a chief executive corporate and especially of the USA.

Did he really honestly say "off script" ? That is hard to believe...having a script for that kind of ceremony..notes on the young man and the action but NOT on your comments !

Wow...I consider that a big flub

What a contrast from watching President Bush socializing with the troops. I talked with a Sergeant on leave a couple of weeks ago at the Borders parking lot, and he said the troops do not think very much of Obama. Actually, he said alot more but I cannot say it on this forum.

During the campaign we were constantly told what a great orator he was. I always thought he sounded like a high school kid running for class president. You shouldn't be surprised that he had to have a script to award the Medal of Homor. He needed the teleprompter to talk to sixth graders.

Sally,
I couldn't agree more! Since he brought so few accomplishments to his campaign, the liberal media had to come up with something to promote this man......thus the myth of the "Great Orator"....... which they stole from a truly great orator ......Ronald Reagan. There are reports that he has even used his teleprompter during some of his cabinet meetings.

Default Anybody familiar with good public speakers know that

extensive use of tele prompters, scripts etc. is indicative of a person who does not know their subject matter.

As far as a great orator? I personally think George Bush, with his gaffs and all, was and is a better speaker off the cuff.

Default Teleprompter vs Palm?

So what if the President uses a Teleprompter? Sarah Palin mocked Pres. Obama for using a Teleprompter and then was caught using crib notes on the palm of her hand. This was the same woman who pardoned a Thanksgiving turkey while other turkeys were being slaughtered in the background of the film clip.

President Obama would like to thank you for your support. Please hang on while his handlers set up the teleprompter.

Default Notes whther on a card or on your hand remind one of key points

to be sure to hit while making a presentation that the speaker is making.
Teleprompters and prepared speeches are read by the speaker who without them would shut down because they do not know the subject matter.

Did reading from a teleprompter make Regan or Bush bad presidents? I remember the same criticisms, *especially* in Reagan's case.
