Church's who do this would be inviting IRS scrutiny. If they do this, they better pray Obama wins.

Prison Planet.com » Obama Plays Race Card, Calls on Churches to Support Campaign

(As soon as the NYT or WP reports on this breaking story, I'll link it)
I did view the YouTube (but not on the PrisonPlanet website). President Obama is 100% right in doing the video. His being President does show how far that African-Americans have come since the bigoted days of Selma and Little Rock. I only heard the word "church" mentioned once or twice. I did not hear "faith captain" but did hear "congregation captain" one time. Nothing wrong with that.

If you go to many non-denominational "Christian" churches, you will hear the minister telling you who to vote for - - and it is not for Obama.

Does RichieLion's statement about separation of church and state hold true for the opposite party? Or the Internal Revenue Service comment? Hmmm.

then you agree that it is also OK for Romney/Santorum to solicit whites in kind...i.e. I need the white-Americans to be sure to support me and get out and vote. Wow would the feces hit the oscillator then?

Every discussion I have ever heard or posts I have seen tout how he will carry the black vote again. Really? Then why the appeal?
The view that he has doubts about pulling the same level of support as in 2008 is obvious.

If Obama and his supporters start paying people for their vote, Buggy will come up with a way to justify it. It's just the way it is.

Very consistent!

Its the "singer" not the "song". Bottom line we have far too many people (liberals) who apparently continue to feel guilty concerning the treatment of blacks decades ago. However, sensible people have come o realize that this situation has been rectified....and then some. How much longer are sensiblr people going to let opportunist beat this dead horse?

BTK, just look at the links I provided. Santorum was at black church in Florida trying to get votes. If Santorum or Romney set up a Mormons or Catholics website for themself, I would have no problem. If they were of a minority that was denied voting or representation like the African-Americans were until 1964, I would have no problem with them having pride in their culture and setting up a "Whatever (fill in the blank)-Americans for Santorum".org. However, none of the Republican candidates belong to a culture or race that was denied voting or representation like African-Americans until 1964. I remember gasoline station restrooms in Virginia being labeled as "Whites Only". I never saw one that said "Italians Only".

Part of Richie's post was about the church related aspect of the YouTube clip. You noticed, I hope, both of my links were regarding the Republican candidates preaching at the churches. Once again, he is picking and choosing what piece he wants to read. Typical of conservatives, isn't it?

buggyone: discrimination existed for every nationality that came to these shores save the original pilgrims and they had to face native americans. I do not remember reading anything concerning any of these other groups demanding the moon and beyond ....you get the point. The affirmative action programs where never something these groups demanded. Instead they fought their way to the top. Perhaps an afirmative action for blacks was necessary in the short run, we will let history decide, but it continues on ad nauseam.

By the way since you are from Virginia you might remember that in and around Norfolk area as late as the 60's the people in that area had sign posted that said No dogs, blacks (they used another name) and sailors allowed on the lawn. I don't recall the U.S. Navy implementing a sailor afirmative action program

Everyone is missing the point, Obama is asking for the black vote because he will do more to improve their lives than the republican MAN. It has nothing to do with the small amount of black DNA in himself. You should think of Obama as mostly white due to his Grandparents on his mothers side of the Family.

Santorum preached at a church? Is that what you're saying. Did the pastor of the church tell his parishioners to vote for Santorum?

Obama is organizing blacks to vote for him because he too is black.

Obama is asking for black church's to organize their parishioners to vote for him because he's black.

I do not believe that for a second. I am appalled that you do, but understand now why you like Perry and Santorum.

Yes, Richie, the pastor did tell the congregation to vote for Santorum.

Look up on Yahoo or Google the information on Rev. Dozier. Very interesting to say the least.

I did look now. Why didn't you say this was an African-American pastor. I bet most here think the guy's a redneck.

He's a pastor at a non-denominational church. I'm guessing Obama's operatives will be investigating him in short order.

Still, it's interesting what you left out.
