Both had the nerve to state today there is no hurry to get the health care reform done by any certain date!!??!!

Aren't these the same guys who were pushing to have it done by Christmas? Then have it done by the State of the Union....what ever it takes.

They are like palm leaves bending in what ever direction the breeze is blowing.

What a difference a day makes.....and an election with results in Mass.
And so now they are going to make believe they are listening to the people...no way. They are doing nothing but re-calibrating what it takes to get re-elected.

We the people prevail. Now to maintain the resolve and get the rest of them out in November.

But watch the schmoozing and nice nice talks in the coming weeks.

Obama said today it is much more difficult to govern than it is to campaign.
Maybe he will stop campaigning and start governing.....that would indeed be a CHANGE!!!

You speak the truth - which is more than this administration has done. I know I heard the same thing you discussed, but I cannot bring myself to believe it. We have heard the words transparency, bi-partisanship, no taxes on the middle class. etc - yet the actions of the administration have hardly backed them up.

Only time will tell...actions speak louder than words...I'm not from Missouri, but these guys are gonna hafta show me - not tell me.

Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians

It's the same story every time. Obama invited Republicans in on some of the meetings, but no movement was made. The same thing happened to Bush which was the same thing that happened to Clinton and on and on..

This goes on and on but Obama decided to do everything behind closed doors without participation of Republicans and independents.

This proves Liberals are moving further to the left in a Country of citizens who are moving further to the right.

The Democrat party of great men like Kennedy is being destroyed by Liberals.

The question is: Why are you Democrats letting this happen; maybe you should check yourselves before it is too late or maybe it is already too late.

Cut taxes. Well, the majority of Americans don't think we can "afford" that right now. Truth of the matter is, since the taxes are skewed the way they are, ANY tax cut could be accurately derided as 'for the rich' since 'the poor' pay so little in taxes.

Keep Gitmo open. Gitmo is on the recruiting posters for terrorists. It's another justification for attacks on the U.S. - that we're hypocrites in detaining people without charge or trial. At best, Gitmo should be a short-term holding tank.

Military trials for terrorists. I'd say many should get exactly that, but there are exceptions.

Tort reform. Has ANYone heard anything about this? All I hear are crickets...

Health insurance across state lines. Seems to have been drowned out in all the other health-care related noise.

No fed funding of abortions. There's a lightning rod that I *knew* would show up when people got serious about health care reform. Here's a question - is federal funding of abortions any different (from the "I don't want my tax dollars going to that" point of view) from war funding?

Bush/Cheney/McCain was rejected by an overwhelming margin.

Now, in Massachusetts, perhaps the 3rd most liberal state in the nation, a Republican is elected, repudiating what the Democrats are doing on a national level.

What does this say?

It says, to me at least, that the political parties have lost touch with the majority of Americans. Americans who are more middle-of-the-road and willing to compromise. It says, to me, that we need a viable 3rd party now more than ever.

their most precious right of all to vote for what they believe. The last three elections all contain the message the American people are fed up with the rampant mis-managing of our government.....either party.

It matters little if there are two, four or six parties.....having more parties will not assure eliminating the business as usual in Washing. And that is what the message the voters are sending.

Just witness the impact the most recent election has had on ruling party behavior in Washington......within 24 hours!!!!!

I personally find dedicated Americans, no matter the station in life, do not intend to compromise on those values they hold dear as a nation. The election results trumpet that loud and clear.
