Default An Outstanding Summary Of Current Economics And The Stock Market

If you want to spend a very productive 30 minutes, watch this presentation by Liz Ann Sonders, Chief Market Strategist for Charles Schwab & Company.

You may recall that Liz Ann was a regular panel member on the Louis Rukeyser Show when Lou was still alive. In the case of this presentation, she presents the information and some very good charts to support her discussion in a manner easily understood by all. The first half of her presentation deals with the current economic conditions, which form the basis for both the government's plan for stimulus as well as what might happen to the stock market. The latter part of Liz Ann's presentation deals with what we might expect from the stock market and why.

The following link will lead you to a splash screen where you can choose to view the presentation with either the Flash Player or Windows Media Player. Then you'll have to click on a ubiquitous release form before going directly to the presentation. I'd suggest clicking on the little button that makes the charts bigger and just listen to Liz Ann while watching the charts.

I hope you all find this informative. Here's the link...

Default VK...that is one of the best presentations

I have seen in the past 12 months. Very effective use of charts which (for me) add significant understanding....I like to be able to see trends that in turn provide a perspective other than today's gloomy snapshot (typical look!).

It is also quite refreshing to view an unbiased presentation, strictly fact based.

My challenge now is to get family and friends to sit still for 30 minutes.

Thanx for the link.

VK,

I see "stock market" or "econ" in a thread title -- I look.

I used to live my schedule around Lou Rukeyser's show. (I was in high school at the time...uh, yeah, that's it.)

Anyway, I loved that show. And I loved Lou. And I think I maybe remember the woman you are talking about here.

And even though I know we can become subject to information overload on this mess, I think this one bodes well for being worth a listen.

So thanks for the link. I will return later and listen to it when there is more time.

Wow, she really has a knack for communicating complex topics in a very straightforward manner. Thanks for posting this. Except for the near-term housing market, she seems to paint a relatively hopeful picture for other economic conditions. Let's hope that she is correct on that (and too bearish on housing).
