I began posting on here at the beginning...and the birther thing was even a "thing" among Democrats BEFORE Obama got the nomination. Then, of course it became bigger and bigger. I NEVER, not even once posted on the subject for a number of reasons. Since you feel what I say is BS and since you feel that I overdo it posting on here, you wont care, but I did not post because I dont believe in conspiracy theories and never did, and I was more concerned not about where he was born, but the influence he received.

Then, as the years passed, I still NEVER posted or commented on the birther thing because it just did not make much sense to me.

Even on this thread and the few that began yesterday, I prefaced many of my posts by saying I was never a birther.

Most importantly, I actually felt embarassed discussing the birther issue and on the post you specifically mention, I wanted to be more agrresive but again...I felt somewhat embarassd to be involved in that kind of conversation, and I have always felt the media was totally screwed up relative to Obama thus I went that direction.

You are right...I CAN see the confusion and I apologize, but after what has come out in the last few days, WITH NO EXPLANATION nor one being asked by the same folks who DEMANDED responses on Romney High School capers, I am now officially very suspicious of how ORIGINALLY this notation got on that pamphlet.

ON your other criticism and sarcasm, I actually enjoy and used to do it for a living....discuss issues and politics (believe it or not for the Democratic party). As you also know, I have pretty much begged folks like you to discuss ISSUES, but all we get from you guys is criticism much like this..personally aimed calling us out either for the number of posts, not liking the Presidents policies (I suppose that is considered heresy in some circles).

At some point there has to be a reckoning of what was said about Obama. If it was incorrect when written and when he was quoted then where is the counterpoint rebutting the alleged incorrectness? There must have existed back then the same caliber of loyalists who would be as quick to disclaim what was written as there seems to be these days. If he has a following today that will defend him, did he not have such a following in 2004?

Some where there is either a truth to be known or a lie to be discovered or revelation that resolves the chronic appearance of the issue.

I also think the term birther is an attempt to discredit via unflattering rhetoric. Similar to labeling those who support Obama as deniers.
I am curious why the birth issue is time sensitive. Why was it not as big a deal as a Senator as it is for POTUS? The most damning statement seems to come directly from Obama in the article above where he states "..I am not running for President..."!!!!!!

How does a birth in Kenya appear in a litirary agents bio AND in an AP release without any input from the party in question ?

And if you read the actual birth is NOT the question. It is a question of a man who has lied himself into the WH. And continues while there....we will assume you approve of that. Actually if you read all the links, the specifically say that they are not questioning the actual birth, but the concept of inventing things such as this and such as in his bio, etc.

Just think about it. How could a person make such a series of huge lies to get himself from being a foreign born person from Kenya into the White House? It is not even feasible to do that with millions of people constantly searching websites and records.

The Birthers are hard at work now before their candidate falls too far behind.

This is a time for common sense to start prevailing. Do not believe made up stories like a book jacket or tripe from Prison Planet.

The issue now has become not where he was born but WHY he keeps telling people different things.

FACT...he has lied in his autobiography
FACT...he "obviously" notwithstanding any other info has lied to literary agents and the AP
FACT...he offered Rev Wright $150000.00 to shut up
FACT...he lied about his mother;s insurance coverage more than once (validated by the Washington Post)
FACT...he lied about substantative issues regarding the country (Health ins, for example)

Then we find out that he actually "modified"...not changing facts but adding HIS FACTS, which in the case of Reagan were NOT TRUE.

However, the LIES told by George W. Bush took the country into Iraq and cost the US over 4,400 American lives. At least we do not have to contend with LIES like that any longer.

now about your post...i don't really have a stake in the birther issue - to me, the damage is done...but...those who question obama's birthsite do raise issues for me that are disconcerting. we all enhance ourselves in one way or another given the particular circumstances in which we find ourselves - on job resumes, at party introductions, interviews, locker room tales, etc - it is human nature. so it might be re the bookflap flap - where it might have been more convenient for the publishing house to hope to create an exotic persona of their client. but most of us are not running for political office, much less potus. and this potus [and his handlers] does nothing to make the issues surrounding his background transparent. the issues remain clouded in suspicion, inuendo, supposition, and evidence that does not support background information.

Not to interrupt but today you can view on line a copy of the Kenya newspaper from when he ran for office stating he is Kenya born. Just an awful lot of people made mistakes it seems Plus even later references in touting his autobiograhy showing born in Kenya
