Who would want Newt in The White House. His lack of morals (not just womanizing) but actually having his divorce crafted in his wife's hospital room when she was recovering from cancer surgery.

He actually stated about his wife that she was not pretty enough to be First Lady and that she had cancer as grounds for divorce.

Now, that is scum.

Clinton repeatedly committing adultry in the oval office was pretty scummy I thought. Although the lefties at the time said it was a private matter and didn't make any difference. I guess that only works for Democrats and leftists.

the difference is that Clinton was already in office and repubs did try the impeachment thing. Was Clinton wrong? Absolutely. But Newt is just as bad maybe worse and how can the religious right vote for a thrice divorced guy with at best a spotty record as speaker. Wasn't he fined $300,000 for something? Newts got lots of baggage and as much as some of you will blame the press he did all the things he is accused of. Look at his past and I see a real scumbag who is all that is wrong with the system.

Chances of Obama winning reelection - 50.2

Two things, first that is a snap shot at this time, this day and of the people who subscribe to it.
Second, I hope like hell it is wrong.

I wish they had a prediction on how they think Obama will do as president if he does get reelected.

Speaking of that you never answered me of what you think about this.
I asked you if he gets reelected do you hope it goes just as good as it has gone so far and are you fine with that?
Based on your post you are for Obama and think he has done a fine job and will do great as a second term president.

Why does everybody think that if you are a conservative you are a right wing religious person.

I guess if you are a liberal then you are a progressive or a socialist or any other generalization.
I don't think you can just assume that people that would vote for a conservative care about social issues as much as is portrayed.

I think the independent vote will be what carries Obama out of office.

THIS is MY Hope for Change.

Newt may well be able to capture the nomination despite his excess baggage because voters recognize that the remaining candidates, including the Democratic incumbent, whom even hsi own party really doesn't want, their bona fides can't come close to Newt's.

However, Newt has a tendency to self destruct and that may well be an occurrence. If he is going to self destruct I'd rather he do it now than as the Republican nominee.

His first wife certainly says that. As for his third wife"I dont want him to be President and I don't think he should be". Can't find a quote from the second wife yet.

His first wife was in the hospital room also during the infamous visit where Newt and his then wife had words? Wow!!; there were an awful lot of people in that room if you start to count how many have a story about it.

LOL - Wow !!! You MUST really be dizzy from all that spinning.

The only way the R's can make Obama's reelection more of a sure thing, would be to run The Quitta.

Just listening to what everyone is saying, and repeating it. It's certainly interesting.

Default The race is on..........

..........the race is on....Pawlenty has scratched early........what a race.....what a race......here they come into the backstretch....Newt is inches ahead by the girth of his belly.......Romney nearly flipped.....no flopped but still is a close second.....wait....Cain has fallen to the back of pack....flash...Cain down and out at 6 furlongs....Perry....quick out of the gate has dropped to third and is neck and neck with Ron Paul....Perry trying hard not to fall further back in the pack.....Ron Paul is holding back for the threat of a big gallup to the finish line....Bachmann, a spunky Philly, is holding steady in middle of the pack....Santorum has shown bursts of speed but can's break out.....Huntsman is cruising in last place but he looks good bringing up the rear......the whole field seems to be running well on the "dirt" track. Hold it.......hold everything....something is going on at the starting gate.......the crowd is on its feet.......it looks like Palin has saddled up.......folks......she looks really stunning in her red, white and blue silks..........and is that?.....no it can't be.......the great thoroughbred Jeb Bush looks ready to go if no one makes the finish line....... What a race.......what a race!

I guess the difference is that Newt didn't commit perjury to a grand jury nor obstruct justice...He told the scummy truth.

As I recall what the left said was "does character really matter?" Well now it appears that we have shifted from "does it" to "it is all that matters". The problem is that this issue is being discussed at such length that it is overshadowing the issues
