There must be something better and more interesting to post than this material.

Richie,

Your posting may or may not be accurate. The dictator of Venezulea is Hugo Chavez.

Cesar Chavez was the farm labor activist and civil rights leader for migrant farm workers and was co-founder of the National Farm Workers Association.

For all I know, school children in Venezulea may be singing praises of Cesar Chavez. Definitely, he was a liberal activist. You may not agree with everything he did, but Cesar Chavez did help the migrant workers in America.

Duh!!; (obvious brain f**t). I'd say I need a vacation, but I'm on a never ending vacation now, so I'm at a loss.

Of course I meant Hugo Chavez and the point of my post was to point out the similarity of the brainwashing of students in the socialist country of Venezuela, and other communist/socialists countries, to revere the "leader of the revolution", and the teacher led chanting of the homage to Obama by the U.S. students in the video aforementioned.

(I was making no conscious reference to Caesar Chavez, and I appreciate that you were kind in your response instead of mocking as you could have been. Thanks much.)

You can find anything that supports your position on the net AND youtube. I will not post them here, but I can find similar videos, where then President Bush was being praised by school children. Do a search in youtube and see what you get.

What's wrong with children praising the President ??

Just saying . . .

Well, they took God out of the schools. Politics do not belong there either. In my humble opinion. When I was in school we did the Pledge of Allegiance with our hand on our heart and our eyes on the American Flag. Just saying, that's all.

If this happened in the classroom where one of my children attended, they would no longer be attending. I sent my children to school to learn the 3 R's-reading, (w)riting and (a)rithmetic. After that I tried to teach them to think for themselves and take care of themselves. My youngest is now a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and is in Moritz Law school at Ohio State, and paying his own way. Pretty sure he never had a class wherein he had to participate in the teacher led group praising of any elected government official...

They do not do that any more??? It should be a normal practice. But not forced.

We still do it at the Villages Woodworkers meetings.

I'd like to see the video you mention. Can't find it anywhere. Only find the ranting of leftists columnists. They mention a time when children sang a song thanking FEMA and then President Bush for efforts concerning Hurricane Katrina.

Comparing the school children's religious like chanting of the teacher led "praising" of Pres. Obama to the adorable children thanking FEMA and President Bush for the rebuilding efforts post-Katrina in song, is stretching comparisons to the breaking point. But, if you can find the video, please post it.

If I am there, I will respond!! I have not been down there very much lately. If you want to go, do it now. When the snowbirds get back it is very busy.

Political correctness and other marxist-oriented practices have become so ingrained in our society most of us have forgotten the benefits derived from reciting the Pledge of Allegience in school, morning prayer in school and benediction at business meetings. Religious events can and should be non-dominational but it is important that we take time to give thanks to something or someone greater us. It is important to to remember each day that our nation under God ( for non-believers with ethical moral determination) permits us to live in a free and democratic society. Expert
explain that it is essentially for people to have a belief in God or something greater than themselves for a democracy to work.
Far too many young people are dangerously disengaged focusing only on themselves. We suffer now from a lack of leadership just think what America will be facing 20 years from now given selfish and narcistic behavior?

Angiefox's post sheds sun light on this issue. Based on the dialogue going on in this country and especially in politics we are a divided nation and a divided nation can only fall

I am not particularly religious but I will pray daily for guidance. I will always Pledge Allegiance to the Flag......
