How do these obtuse rantings contribute to the dialogue here? You speak in riddles. Please, maybe your above my intellect, therefore I do not comprehend your intent. Enlighten me by coming down to my humble level of understanding.

I do not know and I suspect no-one else does either. We have the information that shows these glacial cycles occur approximately every 100,00 to 150,000 years. Approximately 80% of these cycles is glacial with only 20% being interglacial, such as the period we are now enjoying. Are these cycles related to variability in the sun's output, changes in earth orbit or some other cause? That they exist is a given, however we lack the knowledge necessary to say why this occurs.

Waynet, I did not ignore your post and did read the article. My post was intended to address yours and other posts. No slight was intended.

Lines from the poem, Fire & Ice by Dylan Thomas.

It may be prudent to give us your own words from your own mind?

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

dang, I sure am glad I have used the bug spray button on my computer to get that little buzzing gnat silenced. You do not know the pleasure I get from seeing that he has posted something - and I do not have to read his drivvel. Yet he continues to post his replies while knowing I do not see them. Must be a Republican, for sure!

Don't you think you're being a little childish here, Buggy? Don't you have the resources in your arsenal to combat the "drivel" of a "buzzing gnat"?

I'm just saying. I really think you're better than that.

I thought he was too, Richie. Very disappointing. But I guess it takes more of a man to tackle a bug?

Anyways, does any dispute the theory that our very own sun controls our climate? The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that the sun controls Earth.

Default How in the H**l Did an Intelligent

discussion of global warming wind up in name-calling? While I am a conservative and believe strongly that re-electing President Obama would be a disaster for this country, that does not give me the right to denigrate those that disagree with me.

The issue of global warming should be discussed on the basis of the facts available to us, not on the basis of political ideology. I support the right of the schoolteacher in Mount Dora, Maxine Waters, the KKK, the moon lander skeptics, etc to speak their minds without fear of reprisal from the 'politically correct' in the name of 'tolerance'. Free speech should be just that - free speech.

First staying on task, I do believe that the sun has considerable sway over our planet's climate. And that like the moon there are yet to be discovered reasons as to their effect. As a side view, problems and misinformation arise because scientist fall into those human frailties of pride, jealousy, stubborness, etc which too often lead them to the wrong conclusion. Add to that the gaps and gaps of information that are still hidden to us (i.e. we don't know what we don't know). Thankfully we humans are blessed with a great curosity of our origins and that of the worlds above and below us. So I am appreciative of the efforts of scientist to explore this universe.
