What again does Obama have to do with this issue? This is a slippery slope right to the political forum.

Default Yes, this should be in the political forum

I did request that this be moved to the political forum earlier this afternoon but it didn't happen, so I jumped in. But I agree it does belong there.

I always like to hear people defending everyone's first amendment rights. I think of people like the owner of Chick Fil A as I think of the KKK. Although their beliefs are based on hate and bigotry, they have the same basic rights as everyone else. But in situations where people have a legal option to allow or disallow bigotry, I can understand people pursuing legal avenues to disallow it.

barryrx - how do you disagree with a question? where did i say/imply cathy is not entitled to live his belief? he might not have lost a right - but don't you think some folks are trying to stomp on some? do you think the '5 mayors' are simply disagreeing by telling cathy not to even try to open a franchise in their citits?

Default Don't twist my words around or take out of context

Don't twist my words around or take them out of context. I see the owner of chick fil a as I see the KKK in that their beliefs are based on hatred and bigotry. That is what I said, and what I meant. I can see why people don't want to be in the political forum. Such exaggeration.

Quirky, I didn't start this thread as a political issue. I am not asking any TOTV folks to support the events happening today. I was just sharing what was going on outside TV.

WOW, for comments like "hatred and bigotry" (from another post) and especially "KKK" tells how far we need to come as a people to express an issue or a view without such bitterness. If I want a red golf cart and you hate red. . . does that mean you hate me for liking red? Where's the logic?

My apologies to all for starting this mess.

Default Yes, let's end it

Yes, let's end it. Glad that you do not want it to be political. As for logic - if a couple wants the right to legally marry and you don't want that, does that make you a bigot? I would say yes. Just MHO.

Some may have interpreted the title of your Thread "Support Chick Fil A Day" as a request to do just that.

If someone believes something based on personal religious principles and you compare them to the KKK for it, does that make you a religious bigot?

Just wonderin'....

Quirky, Mr. Cathy is a devout Christian as are millions in this country. I think his refusal to compromise his values is heroic. How many people would have the guts to refuse to be bullied by those who oppose his devotion.

Sorry folks, this is being moved to political forum. Content and tone are not appropriate for the general forum.

It does not appear that Mr. Cathy is the bigot here.
