IMO it boils down to votes. It the illegals or future undocumented (illegal, same thing, but sounds better to DAs) was voting republican, there would be different view on illegals? Don't start that crap about immigration from Europe that was LEGAL! LEGAL Don't count when illegal is the subject.
Great response

75+% of the US citizens want to give legal status to illegals living here that haven't broken the law. If the Republicans only problem is voting, and not for them, the answer is very simple you make them legal with no path to citizenship.

It is estimated that four and a half million of the illegals overstayed their visas, and most of these flew into the country. So, no one from Europe flew in, and overstayed their visa. Right.

It has been reported that Trump's wife gamed the system. She is going to explain what she did in a couple of weeks. It has been more that a couple of weeks.

Trump's modeling agency told their models from foreign countries what to do to beat the system. That story died quickly. It will be brought back again. It seems that Trump has no problem at all when illegals or people gaming the system put money in his pocket, or in his bed despite his small hands..

Secure our borders, get rid of illegal criminals,
stop further illegal entry, then find out who we have left to
deal with, after all that has been done.
This is a logical approach that makes complete
sense to anyone that cares about our country!

I care, and if you used common sense, that is a prescription for financial and cultural disaster....

Simple common sense tells me our borders should have been secured and our immigration laws enforced years ago!
Why is that some folks have a hard time
accepting logical information.
And it amazes me how they think having
millions of unknowns entering a country
illegally makes sense.
And they pretend there is no cost involved
for the country it is perpetrated on!
Dial 1 for English...so a cultural disaster for Americans is OK!
We have become Latin America and Mexico's welfare system!
Mexico is not without resources, it is just a country full of corruption.
The type of corruption that the Clinton's will bring to Washington!

There's ALREADY over 100 million Hispanics, they breed like rabbits. THEY will be the majority within 30 years. Tell your kids to learn Spanish, not Chinese/

We're done as a nation, a country, a culture, a civilization.

Please understand, immigration problems go way back.

Obama did not create and frankly has deported more than any recent President.

It is not as simple as Trump wants you to believe. He never talks about what will happen economically, nor the effect on our economy.

He has everyone scared with his negative, scare talk.

I am not saying it is not a problem, and in the last few years congress has inched close to actually passing some comprehensive immigration laws.

Trump screwed that up. He flirted last week with go to Bush/Rubio/Kasich' plans. We were close. Trump has set back immigration reform that makes sense.

Apparently you think it's bad, but not enough
to secure our borders, people like you have
perpetuated the problem
for years with that attitude. It can be done!
You say Trump is using scare tactics,
but aren't you doing the same claiming
how bad it would be for our economy!
I don't believe that it would a real blow to the
US economy if we stopped taking care
of millions of Mexican citizens!
And they are citizens of another sovereign nation!
More jobs for Americans and wages no longer driven down
by cheap illegal labor!

Not one single word you say is true, or even close to true.

Not sure where you get your facts but you are not working with any.

Obama uses a different definition of deport than previous presidents. If you don't know that, you have no business in a political forum. This is for big boy discussions.

I suppose you don't know how the unemployment rate is calculated either.

None of the above is in the daily/weekly/monthly talking points directives. If the material to be discussed is not contained then there is no knowledge.

I assure you beyond a shadow of a doubt, they are both calculated the same as they have for years. In 2012, there were some changes in allowing some under certain conditions..workin, no record, etc to stay 5 years and apply for 5 more...sort of close to one of Trumos proposals this week.

So, in keeping with the thread, what exactly is Trumps policy in immigration ?

It appears he has unleashed a lot of folks who want badly to believe in conspitacepy theories, read the hate websites, etc.

I was on the edge but will be changing my registration from GOP to independent. Cannot belong to a party, to which I was loyal for 50 years, that is now based on hate and intolerance. Hat is not my America.

You can not assure anything without proof. What I say is common knowledge even to liberals.

High deportation figures are misleading - LA Times

The Villages Florida

BTW, I am an independent and try to speak facts not opinion.
