Sam,

That is a hoot. You are starting to sound like GG. I love that straight schtick she does. I told her once that if George Burns had hooked up with her after his beloved Gracie Number One, he could have continued that standup routine for a lot longer.

Well, I really have to get on with my best laid plans of the day. And stop hijacking this thread which I actually am liking a lot, even though it is political.

psssst, Sam, Peachie is sleepin' with her insurance agent.

I have got to get out of here. I have got to stop this. Hijacking is so rude. I have already probably :edit: off a bunch of people with my rant.

I am gone. (But I guess you already knew that.)

Michael Moore is calling for Caroline Kennedy to run with Obama. That is scary for Obama if you look at it from a conspiracy standpoint. The Kennedys have been trying to get one of their own into the Presidency since who knows when. It would be in their best interest if Obama and Caroline ran together and won, wouldn't it? I won't say anymore, use your own judgement. Of course the Clintons would be called in as consultants on this one, lol!!

This may be very true. Folks on here have been a bit critical of my saying I feared socialism if Sen Obama was elected but they are not looking at his historyas I have tried to spell out but the entire Democratic logic....recent example...

The Democrats wanted to bail out all the folks in trouble with mortgages...meaning you and I and every other responsible american pay not only our mortgage but theirs as well. The President said he would veto it for a long time. He did finally sign it (in private) after the Democrats stopped opposing to some help the President wanted for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac which was the card they played...to quote the President "proposed reforms to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac "are too important to the stability of our nation's housing market, financial system and the broader economy not to be enacted immediately."

NOW the media is lambasting the President for signing the Democratic bill that he opposed but was cornered into signing. It is a Democratic bill and I sincerely believe if Sen Obama is elected we will bail out anyone in this country and others at a cost to us !

Link to the Wall Street Journal of July 31, 2008

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/31/bu...hp&oref=slogin

Last paragraph of the article..

"The bill includes an array of other aid for troubled borrowers, and about $15 billion in housing-related tax breaks. It also includes nearly $4 billion grants to local governments to buy and refurbished foreclosed properties, which Mr. Bush had opposed even as he signed the measure. The White House views that provision as a giveaway to banks and other lenders who own the seized properties"

From the Washington Times of July 27, 2008

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...ilout-to-bush/

A few comments from that article...

"The House passed the bill on Wednesday, hours after President Bush withdrew a threatened veto of the measure. Mr. Bush is expected to sign the bill into law Monday."

"Many Senate Republicans were angry that Mr. Reid - - who as majority leader controls the legislative schedule - brought the housing bill to the floor in lieu of Republican proposals to increase domestic oil drilling, which they say would lead to lower gasoline prices at the pump. "

Default A Difference?...Are You Kidding?

Who said that all a Vice President does is break an occasional tie vote in the Senate and go to the funerals of foreign dignitaries?

Wasn't that Dick Cheney?

'Nuff said?

I am not sure what this above post is all about...my post was in response to being beyond childish and suppled some facts on the ISSUE THAT was being discussed where it was implied I was making it up or something.

I was replying to the original post, not your reply, Bucco. The original post posed the question of whether the choices of VP by the candidates would affect my vote. I was attempting to say that, given our experience of the last eight years, it sure will...and it should!

Thanks....I had already been told I was "beyond childish" for sharing FACTS and did not want to have to go to my room again

Yeah, seems like VP may be more important this cycle more because of the candidates themselves !!

What do you think are the chances of my man Joe (Biden, Delaware senator) being the democratic running mate?

It is all over the news here, but Joe isn't saying anything.

I have it on good authority that he really wants to be Sec of State.

Guess we'll wait and see.

I also really like Sen Biden !

If he is chosen, it will surely give me pause, but my concerns about our intended President would trump it.

However, given any other candidate, he would really draw me !
