Thanks for the link. Interesting numbers. Hardly an "overwhelming" vote. And hopefully in the Senate cooler heads will prevail. We may need some changes in the current "system", but the 1990+ pages the House endorsed goes way off the charts.
www.defendyourhealthcare.us has a copy of the entire morass, and a pretty good summary of points that are particularly worrisome.

Default What is the most worrisome is the false, selfish priority

this issue is getting from Obama and his puppets in Congress.

I guess the economy as the issue that he milked to get elected is just that. Objective accomplished....he got elected by those who bought his rhetoric.

Now he is focusing on his and his congress' agenda....which by the way which subordinates the economy and the war(s).

Since there is no plan for recovery of the economy all he can do is wait for the numbers to come out that hint at a positive issue.....and then run for a microphone to claim .....it's working .

The next issue that is also subordinated is energy independence. The problem has not gone away. We have done absolutely nothing to make a difference in the future. The world's economies are recovering (they have a plan)...their use for oil will start to climb again....the price of oil is going to go back to $100++ per barrel.....the price of gas will go back to $4 per gallon....prices will continue to go up to reflect the higher fuel/energy costs.
Then we will get some panic generated, knee jerk reaction that will cost more trillions.

But we are not to worry......Obama and Nancy are taking care of us.....

How can you say "Obama and his puppets" when one of the issues has been how much the Democrats in Congress have NOT gone along with Obama's original intentions on this issue?

Saying they are his puppets doesn't make it so. The dissenting votes over the weekend are proof positive of that.

Though I certainly agree with you on the energy independence bit. Just because the price of oil is stable now (who would have thought that $2.60 gas would be considered 'ok' here in NH?) doesn't mean a damn thing.

Now's the time for us to be buying more for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, among other things.

I couldn't agree more. They are not President Obama's puppets; they are Speaker Pelosi's puppets. Pull their string and watch 'em dance.

Are you are saying that Pelosi is not Obama's puppet? He talks and her mouth moves.

Just a few comments....

1. If the President would commit perhaps she would not have that power OR....when they meet do you not think he understands what she is going to do.

2, This bill will not only plunge this country into real financial problems but will make those insurance company profits mentioned as bad go UP UP UP !

3. It will also increase taxes on those it is supposed to help as well as give them another obligation they didnt have.

I was under the impression that this was about reducing COSTS.l...this bill does not address that except in a very very general sense !

HOWEVER, we all know that the Dems will find a way and we are stuck with it !

Default Bucco, I think your number three is very under estimated.

The guy today, for what ever the reason is content, maybe not happy, but content with the current situation and financials with no insurance. Now come the new bill....yeah insurance is now not only available to him, as it always was, but now he must take it or pay a fine or even go to jail as some stupids would intimate.

So where does this guy get the money? Ah-hah.....Obama will give him a check/allowance....that still leaves the man with a bill he chose not to have before the wonderful health care reform. Where does the money come from for people like this?

Another freebie in the making!!!!!!
