Default Veterans Against War (VAW)

I am a Vietnam Veteran, I am retired from the Army (22 Years) and I am against War. Am I alone? Is it time for a new club in The Villages? I am willing to offer my time and energy to accomplish this. My ID on TOTV is COWBUBBA. Send me a private message and just tell me you are also against war and I will be moved to start a club. I think it's time to stand up in support of our military men and women, but with a strong desire to prevent war. Being patriotic is being willing to die for your country but still avoid war whenever possible. You don't have to join the military to love and defend your country.

All you had to do was elect someone other than a D or R and you could have avoided all this talk of war.

You said: All you had to do was elect someone other than a D or R and you could have avoided all this talk of war.

I said that's why I supported Bernie Sanders.

I did not say who I ultimately voted for you ignorant prick.
One more reason to have a club for people that love America and will fight and die for America, but will try to avoid war. That will take a select group of villagers intelligent enough to have a vision to do any or all three when necessary. Ggggeeezzz, the ignorance of trump supporters, and if your not one, check it out as your fully qualified you POS.

LOL, I will host the first meeting.

Default Veterans Against War (VAW)

“Come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
Yeah, he's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Vietnam
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
Gonna have a whole lotta fun.
And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
Yeah, come on Wall Street, don't be slow,
Why man, this is war au-go-go
There's plenty good money to be made
By supplying the Army with the tools of its trade,
Just hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
They drop it on the Viet Cong.
And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
Well, come on generals, let's move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Now you can go out and get those reds
'Cause the only good commie is the one that's dead
And you know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come.
And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
Come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack your boys off to Vietnam.
Come on fathers, and don't hesitate
To send your sons off before it's too late.
You can be the first ones in your block
To have your boy come home in a box.
And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die “

Yes, I am a war veteran also. I am like ALL military, that trains for war but is against UNNECESSARY war. No one in their right mind goes into the military and expects to be part of the Peace Corps. You are trained to be a warrior, to defend you country and other countries the need our assistance. It is not our responsibility to question the reason why (just do and die).

I am sure you have your reason for your negative view of loyalty to country. That's your problem. I hope it is not a communicable disease.

NO, I would NOT join you in your misery. I am proud of my service in Vietnam, Desert Storm and as a civilian in a combat zone in Iraqi Freedom. You earned (I think) your Free Speech right. It was not necessary if you were born here, it was given to you. I will not give you my personal opinion of people like you. I will withhold that judgement. Even if I do not agree with you, I fought for your right.

No one wants war. But, war is better on some other land than our own. It's easy to criticize when you are not privy to Intel reports.

Maybe instead of finding other disgruntled Vets that you can drown your guilty sorrows with, you should seek some group therapy with other Vets. Vets that are still loyal to our country and flag.

you sir are like an old drunk sergeant trying to hang onto your glory days.
im happy that you found enjoyment in killing, but I did not.

In closing, we should never have been in Vietnam.

Yes Yes Yes, and I would do it again if called, but we must get politicians in office that will have more restraint than those during the Vietnam era.

If that is your answer to what I said, then you are a brain dead idiot. It is not my fault that you are disenchanted with your retirement. I do not need to hold onto any "glory days" as all I did was my job. Nothing more than any other patriot would do. I do not belong to any veterans organizations and I have never been to the wall to see those that I knew that died over there. I served my country as a perceived obligation for all it has given me and my family. I do not whine and complain about it. I do not brag about it. I just did it. I did not enjoy killing and I am not a hunter. I killed as part of a war. I would hunt to eat, if I had to. I do not have anything against those that hunt as long as they eat what they kill. You are hurting and you are carrying a guilt burden. I have seen that a lot with returning veterans that felt guilty about something they did that made them feel dirty mentally. I did nothing that I am ashamed of. And I have no hate or animosity for the enemy. They were doing the same thing.

But, I would not support a socialist commie due to some perception of wrong doing by our government. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt, ONLY because you claim to be a Vet. I consider a lot of returning Vets, broken. Many were mistreated by our own country when we returned. I try to understand those liberals that seemed too cowardly to serve or even support this great nation. It's hard to do when they do not attempt to convince one of their ideology, just attack and demean anyone that does not agree with them. They have not sacrificed so I do not consider them validly qualified to debate with me. I allow them to disagree, but they have not yet attempted to show where they have a viable solution for this country. Spending a lot of money does not work. Taxing so that they can spend money frivolously is not a good reason. Coddling the lazy is not a good reason. Guilty giving of our resources to those that they feel are inferior to themselves, ie. minorities is not a good reason. I have yet to see a liberal TODAY that has a good argument. Democrats from my father's time, were patriotic and some even conservative. Now, that is gone and the Democrats have morphed into socialists pushing for communism.

But the subject was your whining about trying to get together with liberal Vets. I am sure you will find some. Good luck. This Vet does not "join" clubs and can think on his own, without someone else assisting me. And I do not join for the purpose of drinking myself into oblivion with other Vets while they embellish on their war stories. I love my brothers in arms but I love my family more.

If you have a problem with this administration, then do like I did after 8 years, I tried to make a difference at the election polls. And I did not use my veteran status as an advantage, either.

You've got your free speech. I am sure you can find some BLM Vets that will join your group.

Like

But, although it does take time to separate the chaff from the grain, not all Democrats are what you claim they are.
