I just wanted to say that it would have been great to have Tim Russert around for this!

In the midst of all insanity he really was the voice of reason for the American public without really choosing a side!

God Bless him and his family....

Just a quick side note....nothing really political...except that is what he did so well!!

This may come as a bit of a shock, Cassie, but I totally agree with you. I have/had ultimate respect for Russert, both professionally and personally. He may have been, as his best friend Imus described, "half a commie" but he bent over backwards to be fair and honest in his interviews, or as I'm sure many of his guests felt, his inquisitions. Meet the Press today is a pale imitation of his days.

An aside -- not exactly literary masterpiece, but I strongly recommend Big Russ and Me. It helps understand what made the man.

PS...I read the book! I will read it again! One of the very few worth re-reading!

Russert was, in fact, fair and balanced. And it sure did not hurt him to be a Buffalo Bills fan.

I miss him too - decent, solid and grounded.
The only good thing out of it is that his beloved son will surely follow his footsteps.
