Here's my completely Constitutional solution for "Anchor Babies".

Just to be sure, here's my definition of the term: A baby born in this country who's parents (one or both) are illegal aliens. ...where the mother came across the border and had the baby. ...where NO parents are or were legally in the country (not on student visas, work visas, etc)

The baby is a citizen. The Constitution says so.

The parents are not. The Constitution says so.

The baby is entitled to American benefits. The parents are not. If the parents are willing to give up the baby, no problem.

If they are not willing to give up the baby, they have two choices:

1) Go back to their native country.

2) Go back to their native country and apply for LEGAL entry like millions have before them.

Side note: Notice the similarities in the beginning of 1) and 2) !!!

Go ahead - tell them they're either going to be legal or split up the family. Enough is enough.

Default Babies of Illegal Aliens are automatically Citizens?; Actually, it's not so clear.

It's not as black and white an issue as you think it is.

Read the testimoney of Edward J. Erler, who is Professor of Political Science at California State University in San Bernadino, before the Subcommittee on Immigration and Claims in 1997. May give you cause to reconsider.
