I think Fiorina came across the best but I won't vote for her based on her history with Lucent and Hp.
I also hate to admit it, but if she were a man I might see it differently. |

According to Google, Fiorina was considered the winner in the debate in every demographic except rural voters, where Trump barely beat her out.

...except rural voters making over $75K, where Fiorina still won.

If not I would suggest you do some research on her past and specifically at HP. There are some executives who are not liked because they did what had to be done to turn a troubled business around. It usually involves the dismissal of many sometimes thousands of people to get the job done. The right thing to do? Absolutely no choice. Popular? It never is. DOing the right thing is never popular, but still gets negative play. Why she left? Was asked to leave? Here again if you do not have first hand information you are not likely to find the real reason as it is cloaked in a board room envirnment and the news is in fact managed the way the company wants it to play. For all we know she was brought in as a hatchet person to do the job and then by prior agreement the leaving made to look as it played out to make the board look good. And for that she was paid 20 million dollars to leave. And if all the above does not matter if she was a man, that is just a totally irresponsible position to take. To not vote for the right person because of a self serving prejudice is just stupid and a vote for the opposition. Man up and do what Carly did....the right thing. You may get an A for honesty but an F for integrity. |

Carly's record at HP was a stumbling block for me too as i felt it left her open to attack from the left...however, she did say last night that her old boss took out a full page ad in the NY times saying he was wrong to fire her and it was the board who was wrong. if this is true (easily ascertained) i think there is nothing stopping her from getting ahead....all that said, my personal favorites are still Trump and Carson, who together would make a dream team for our ticket!

Republicans have a great line up this year while dems have no one. Hillary, a liar and loser is out. Bernie is Obama on steroids so to the debate. For the politicians, rubio stood out (don't like his stance on immigration though). Christie was good but can't get past the Obama hug. Huckabee did fairly well and Cruz should have had more time. The non politicians Carly stood out, trump still in there. Carson too meek for me. Hmmm. Maybe a trump\carly ticket

How often have we had a nominee choose another candidate for his running mate?

Personally, I think that Rubio/Carley ticket would be hard to beat and a very viable union of talents. I just can't agree with Rubio's idea for illegals.

The merger with Compaq took a company with a good product (HP) mixed it up with an inferior product and then sunk down to compaq's level rather than elevating compaq. Jobs were outsourced to (I think) India, they refused to stand behind their product. Lucent? Where is Lucent today? (I know the answer, GONE). Lucent, as I recall was an offshoot of the Bell breakup. IMO, a monkey with a wig could have provided better leadership that Ms. Fiorino. Again they merged downward by taking on vtech, their stock was all over the place. What would she do as POTUS, outsource Congress to Haiti (sounds good-LOL) and turn off lights in the WH to balance the budget? |

I think it is telling when a person bad mouths the out sourcing actions. It tells me there is not a familiarity with why such actions are neccessitated by ever increasing costs here in the USA (for a lot of reasons). The single biggest expense in most income statements is wages/salaries/labor. And it is pretty ommon knowledge that there are always more people employed than needed....at the shirt/skirt and tie level as well as the blue collar/labor level. No sense going any further as I am sure that is not what the interest is in...the why that is. The minority opinion is duly noted!! |
