I would agree with that except I think that people feel that the Earth is so, so large that nothing that MAN can do to her (short of nuclear holocaust) has ANY effect on her. But if you visualize a globe of the earth on a desk then the whole atmosphere is only as thick as a coat of paint. That's when you realize that ALL the exhaust gases from ALL the internal combustion engines in the world are enough to adversely affect that thin veneer of Earth atmosphere. It is delicate.

Possibly we are beginning to agree. People in 1st world countries (most of all) need to control themselves and control their borders. 15 years ago we were able to do ALL those things WITHOUT endangering the human race. Global Warming has recently snuck up on many or even ALL of us. It is only in the last 15 years that globally the icebergs have been melting, coral reefs have died, the Gulf has gotten to record levels, Death Valley has hit a near record of 130 F, and masses are migrating northward toward the US and Europe. Also, the oceans are rising and cities like Miami are PREPARING. If it was 2014, I would have written NOTHING in TOTV about climate or warming. But, now I write stuff because as the song goes," the times they are changing". I wish that I would be wrong, but we can see the HEAT changes in Florida. 90 to 95 % of all Scientists worry about man-caused Global Warming. The UN is NOT afraid to talk about it , but here locally people are ignoring it (also nationally). We in the US are NOT known for our mental flexibility.

My bad, I think that 8 Billion is the correct number. I don't know where I got the 15 number. BUT, actually it is NOT the absolute number that is important. It is the rapid RATE of CHANGE of population as shown in the graph talked about in either post 111 or 112. It is the change in population, CO2 pollution, and earth temperature that is the important things.

All claims of man-made climate change are baseless - unless much man-made CO2 warmed the earth last year is defined. We know how much the stock market changed last year. We know how much CO2 changed last year. But know one knows how much man-made CO2 warmed the earth last year. Those that claim otherwise speak in the realm of fairly tales - because there is no proof CO2 harms our climate.

If the Earth ever returns to it's optimal temperature of 69F (We are at about 60F now...Still coming out of a long Ice Age), we will see some pretty nasty and large plants evolve and perhaps return of dinosaurs over time (They taste like chicken I hear). Atmospheric CO2 will be about 1500 PPM at 69F.

I've always heard motor oil was made out of dinosaurs so it would be counterintuitive for them to drive an ICE which need oil.
