Played 2 hrs. of singles tennis against my wife this past Wednesday, and another two hours of doubles yesterday afternoon. Golf this afternoon, tennis tomorrow morning beginning at about 11 am (singles again). And we don't play pattycake tennis, but all-out.

We have a choice. We can bellyache about the heat and stay huddled up next to the A/C OR we can enjoy what Florida summers have to offer. Drink about a pint of electrolyte solution BEFORE starting to play, drink plenty of water during play, take a short rest of 1-2 minutes during side changes, and two hours pass pretty fast. I scarcely notice the heat except that from time to time the raquet will turn in my hand if my palms get sweaty.

It is true that individuals can have different capabilities to withstand high HEAT and play sports outside during the afternoon in Florida. Age would certainly be one factor. Personally, I don't think that most people in the Villages would REALLY enjoy playing tennis or pickleball in the afternoon Florida HEAT. Some may do it, but is it REALLY worth it? Stress to the body is GOOD in athletic activity up to a point. I think that it is easy to pass over the point where a person is doing something good for their health and get into an area of too much physical stress, which may be damaging to their system.
But, if a person can do it and TRULY enjoy it, then more power to them!

I remember going to Las Vegas with my parents some 50 years ago. Tennis was HUGE at that time.

The outdoor courts were PACKED from dawn until lunchtime. Then they were empty until the sun went down... Then they were packed agin until Midnight...

Hmmm... I wonder why that was? Maybe because it's FREAKIN' HOT in Vegas in the summer? Just like Central Florida?

I think a whole lot of it is attitude. For myself, I spent 72 years on that "tundra" called Minnesota. Compared to that, this is heaven!

Good round of golf yesterday afternoon though. Few people on the course so I could play at my own speed (pretty fast, usually).
