Default TS Gordon is a Joke

As of 11 AM today (Sep 15) the hurricane center still claims TD7 is a tropical storm. The circulation has no clothes. The hurricane center must be desperate for attention.

They finally put TS Gordon in its proper place -- as a tropical depression. It's now a nothing-burger. The new TD#8 off the Carolinas is not tropical in nature -- it's sub-tropical and it's not vertically stacked and thus not warm core -- which is why the NHC is not naming the system. Will we ever get to the promised 33 named storms as Michael Mann promised? We are now passed peak hurricane season -- with only 7 named storms.

That's funny. I saw coverage of it on multiple news stations yesterday.

"Promised"? Or was it simply speculation? 🤔

It was Mann and other alarmists -- so it must be a consensus -- 33 storms or bust.

It’s really nice to have only seven named storms to date. Given all the bad news on planet earth, for one, I welcome the facts that (especially Florida) may be spared a major hurricane disaster the year. However, some Louisiana residents might say all is not so good with only seven storms this year. As a good friend of mine is always telling me, “everything is relative”.

No one can predict the future, not even Al Gore, but hopefully the rest of the season will also be very low in activity. Many were betting, like Michael Mann and many others in the realm of climate authority, for a very active season -- but that same good friend also warned us about blind belief in authority.

most forecasts are wrong, some will be useful, the right ones just got lucky. . doesn't matter who makes the forecast, an authority or a TOTV account. .

However, some areas can use the fresh watering as some levels are falling from the spring deluge. . up here in NE, we haven't had rain from almost 2 months. . .

the future is always uncertain, sometimes more so than othertimes

Deliberate ignoring of facts is the mother of stupidity.

There are things in this life that might cause me to get my undershorts in a wad. This topic ain't one of them.

Most would be upset over spending trillions on a non-problem, which is being based on faked data. Hint ... it's not really about the climate -- it's about your money.

Yes, but Tonga is only causing a temporary heating spike -- until its stratospheric water vapor slowly dries out -- which could take a few years.

Due to the complexity, weather forecasting, it is at best an inexact science. It’s like any of us trying to guess the number of marbles in a large jar.
