With the help of dedicated volunteers, Seniors vs Crime, a non-profit organization, works hard to protect their community from scammers and crime. Seniors vs Crime takes the initiative to fight against scammers who prey on senior citizens. If you ever become a victim of a scam, or want to volunteer as a sleuth, or attend educational programs, then you should contact Seniors vs Crime. Community Watch
In addition to the community, a network of community watch works alongside closely with law enforcement to ensure community safety. The Community Watch offers these programs:
House Check Program
Going out of town for over seven days? Worried about leaving your house unchecked? For $5.35 per week, a patrol driver will check outside your home three times a week.
Resident Out of Area Program
Residents who leave town for more than seven days can sign up to be notified by the Community Watch in the case of a natural disaster whether or not their house was damaged. This service is free of charge, and does not include house checks. To sign up, contact 352-750-8201.
Adult Watch Program:
Residents may request, free of charge, for daily or weekly calls to check up on their well-being.
