A friend of mine devised a hand operated gas pedal attachment on his gas cart. He used an old aluminum crutch cut in half. Itβs bolted to floor and pivots to operate gas pedal, the padded part that would fit in armpit is used as the actual handle. He devised this for his own knee problem. It works remarkably well.

No cruise control but you can get a modification done wher the brake and gas is on a modified steering wheel

I feel you, having to keep your foot on the pedal for long periods of time can stress the knee and joints. I'm doing a little googling there are several people that rig things up but I have not seen anything marketable. you might contact a golf cart repair place to see if they could rig something up

I don't see anything wrong with having cruise control on golf cart for long straightaways.
You have cruise control on your car and use on long distance straight roads and don't use it on curvy roads. I'm sure she wouldn't use it on MMP's. Some people need to lighten up and not be so critical if they don't know all the info about the OP's wife... ![]() ![]() |

The really scary thing here is that anyone would think cruise control on a golf cart is a good idea. Cars that have cruise control have built in safety features. In your car if you are to close to another car or object it automatically disengages. Too many people walking biking or skating on the mmps to use cruise control. This falls under the not so common common sense rule. OP should just drive his wife on long trips in the cart. Problem solved. After all men are better drivers anyway. (Joking) lol

Very true. I've used a thick back cushion to get me closer to the front as well.

It's, you know, sense. And, it's common. But it isn't necessarily "good". Get it? π

No, and even if someone designed it, it probably would be too expensive and dangerous.

My wife is very short and she had a block put on the pedal. Worked great. I thought I still had it but realized I had given it to a neighbor. We bought a new cart and solved the problem by buying split seats with adjustable seat. Good luck.

Put a pillow behind her on the seat.

Our golf cart came with a pedal extender. It slides on the accelerator easily and can be removed easily. It is about 2 inches deep.

Swap wheel for handle bars with brake levers and twist grip throttle. Like a motorcycle.
