I agree. Early on we rented one that had a tinted windshield and driving home from the square that evening I thought I was going blind! Lol.

I had the same problem last year trying to find a clear vented fold-down windshield. I must have checked every golf cart accessory place on the web with no luck. I ended up just going with the tinted.

Ha, I asked the person at Red Dot why no clear and they said no one uses them. We are likely unique in the golf cart world, most folks probably use them primarily for golf.

how about buying clear and then cutting the plexiglass and inserting the vents ourselves? maybe a side business opportunity for customization?

Just a thought as I know plexiglass can be cut, but its also susceptible to cracking if not done correctly. .

This would be a lot of work, especially if the slots needed to be smoothed. Cutting or drilling plexiglass seems to require some lubricant to avoid the material heating up too much and melting. I use water most of the time. Actually it would probably be easier to save the bottom piece with the slots, and replace the top piece, but I have NOT tried to do this.

I typically embrace a project, but as VT pointed out, that’s a lot of work and I could easily end up damaging a brand new windshield. Looks like I’ll just go with a non vented clear replacement windshield. When I drive by myself the windshield is folded down 99% of the time it’s not raining anyways (the exception would be an unusually cold winter night if I forget to bring a hat). The only time the venting would be nice is when I’m driving with my wife and she wants the windshield flipped up because she doesn’t want the wind to mess up her hair (although I prefer the wind blown look). You would think there would be a profitable market for vented clear windshields with the growth of the personal transportation vehicle market and associated amount of night driving. Oh well, go figure?

Thanks to everyone who suggested places that sell windshields. Unfortunately, nobody has a version that is folding, clear, and vented. I gave up searching and ordered a regular clear folding windshield with no venting. I did spring for a bit extra expense to get a thicker (1/4 vs 3/16 inch thick) impact resistant style.
