Kart Aid can bring you that gallon of gas, negating the need to be towed home...

Please don't encourage people to irresponsibly push the range of their carts, gas or electric. It will increase the annual membership fee to Kart Aid for people who want the service for true emergencies.

Where did I do any such thing? I was simply commenting to the poster who thought it was simple to have his cart towed if he ran out of juice...

If you don't own an electric, why are you concerned about signage?

I do own an electric cart. I didn't see the signage at Everglades either. Where at Everglades are the public outlets you mentioned?

Maybe you do not know how to find charging stations. We would all be better off without the smelly gas golf carts.

Next to the place that gives out free gas to carts with almost empty tanks.

I'm a bit surprised about the attitude in the Villages of "electric vs gas" golf carts. When I made my decision to buy a golf cart it was based on the availability and what I thought I would be doing with it. My wife in particular didn't like the exhaust smell, so we went with a lithium ion cart. But that had nothing to do with any disdain for gas golf carts. It just worked best for me and my usage.

If it was a choice between lead cell battery cart and gas, it's hands-down gas. Not because I look down on lead cell, but the need to replace/maintain the batteries, along with lead cell power degradation over time wasn't something I wanted to deal with.

I would imagine many of the gas cart owners bought their carts more than a few years ago, before lithium ion carts were more common, and might decide to purchase one the next time around. But if their current gas cart is running fine, why dump it just for the latest/greatest?

I already told my wife that if we go down to one car, I will be getting a gas cart to replace it, so we have one electric and one gas depending on where/how far we need to go. All about buying the best tool for the job.

Thanks.

I can't imagine a ride so long that I won't have enough charge to get back home. 42 miles covered a lot of area and took over three hours of driving - I don't want to be sitting in a golf cart longer than that.

I figured it was fake news but wanted to get a location so I could check the next time I'm down there. This will save me a few minutes of needless searching.

I have put over 5,000 miles on my electric cart will no problems with range as I can go 50~60 mile with a full charge. Most of the time, I charge it overnight every third day to be safe.
