Ours was in for 2 weeks to have batteries replaced (a 1 year old cart), and one month later it has the same problems it did before the batteries were replaced. Repeated phone calls to them are rarely returned.

I second this notion. Try this place also

Default Golf cart dealer

Several of my friends and I bought our Yamaha cart at Carts & Clubs in Ocala and we all are very satisfied. They recently moved to a larger location on 27/441 south of Ocala just past the drive -in movie. Ted will build to your specs and his prices are lower than the Villages. He will take trade-ins and stands behind his product.

Is The Villages Golf Cart shop not mentioned simply because they're higher (I assume) than the other places mentioned? My husband and I were considering buying from them mostly for convenience. If we buy a golf cart from one of the other places mentioned here, how do you get service on your cart when the shop is so much farther away?

(We've just bought in TV, so we're new to all of these kind of questions and really appreciate your advice!)

I priced a Cart with them new 4 seater, almost 11,000. i checked with a dealer in west palm that would only charge me 150.00 to deliver the thing here, and his price was 8100. Now I would think that might be alittle much. Yamaha cart it was

Hey GMONEY, Sounds like a deal to me? What's the name of this dealer in West Palm?
Thanks.

Try this one, I can not find the link to the West Palm one.. I am still looking for it. this one had a really good deal also. They told me that if you buy one from them, I would get charged for warranty work if I took it to the dealer in the villages due to not buying it here. I have had many places tell me they get alot of calls from Villagers complaing about the price they charge in The Villages

I have not seen an answer to the question on Village Golf Cart, servicing Yamaha carts not bought from them, under warranty? My understanding is a Cart bought from a authorized dealer is entitled correction & service with warranty related issues whether cart has been purchased from them or not. But, are you given the same service. I refer to scheduling, pickup if necessary, cost? Do they charge you for pickup & delivery? Any labor cost for warranty service? Anyone buy a Cart outside the Villages and have to deal with Villages Golf Cart for service to their cart?

I have looked at Carts & Clubs in Ocala, and the answer to my questions above is No Charge for Pickup, or Labor for warranty related problems. It sounds like quick servicing as well. I'm still looking at other Yamaha dealers, but looking for answer to servicing.

Thank You

I just spoke to a sales rep at Boylan Golf Carts, which was mentioned earlier. He said that his understanding was that The Villages Golf Cart would have to service someone else's golf cart under warranty, but that they charge $150 for a service call.

Yes that is what i was told. been awhile since I talked to them. But I knew something was different. I talked to The Villages Shop and they were out of their minds with the prices I was told.
But I have also been checking out the new Tomberlin store on 301 south of 466. They are in the Plaza with Lucky-U Cycles. Nice carts and price looks real good.
Also that Custom Carts in Odessa is a real good deal. I have been to that one. Great pricing also.

Thumbs up Town and Country Golf Cart Sales

We bought an EZGO Freedom Golf Cart from Town and Country a few months ago and we based our selection on some advise from coments made in TOTV.
It was good sound advise. We are happy with the cart and the service is terrific. We drive it in once a month and they check the water in the batteries, the tires and do little things at no charge, (e.g. installed license plate, etc.)
A couple of months ago we had a problem with a little damage that required the back panel to be fixed and the back canvas cover to be replaced. All was done quickly, (sent parts back to the factory for repair, fixed it when they were returned and "no charge".) Just a thanks for coming in. It would be great if all business's treated their customers as well as we have been treated by Town and Country.

Talking

After shopping around and feedback from TOTV, we decided to purchase from Carts & Clubs in Ocala. The price by comparison to The Villages Golf Cart was a savings of approximately $1000, that's comparing apples to apples. You are dealing directly with the owners Ted & Connie Dunlap customer service oriented and personable. Their is no loss of convenience of service after your purchase. They make scheduled stops in The Villages Tues & Thurs and as demand requires. We purchased the 2009 Gas Yamaha, Beautiful cart. Very very happy with cart and dealer
Also as mentioned in a few postings, we would advise you to stay away from Freedom Carts, formally know as K & H Cart before moving farther North on 441.

No special recommendations on where to buy but one on where NOT to buy. There are a coupla "shade tree mechanics" at Market of Marion offering golf carts and I would avoid those places like the plague. If all they can afford for their business is a rented stall at M of M, what kind of service can you expect?
