Default Kelch brand golf cart gas gauge

New to me 2018 Yamaha with a "Kelch brand" golf cart gas gauge. Filled tank, but gauge says only 3/4 full. Can this be adjusted.

Probably not, I have noticed on our cart (2017) that you cannot actually fill the tank unless you are very good at controlling the flow. I would not worry about the full indication you need to worry about the empty indication. As I recall the tank holds 5 gallons, so watch your gauge, and when it gets close to E, fill the tank and take note of the amount of gas, this will give you an idea of the accuracy.

One other thought, ask a neighbor if you can borrow their gauge for a couple of minutes and install it in your cart see if you get the same reading. It may be possible that the float on your gauge has a small leak and there is some gas in the float which could cause a low reading.

Replacement gauges run around $30 last time I checked.

Here is some follow-up, I have a 'spare' Kelch fuel gauge, and first i was wrong, the float is solid and will not leak. There is no adjustment. I had mine out and moved the float from the bottom to the top and the needle indicator moved from empty to full.
So, as I noted before it is very hard to actually fill the tank so the float will be at the very top and indicate full.
IMHO, I would not make any adjustments to get "full" indicating as this might interfere with the empty indication which is very important.

Yes, I agree. It is best to know when you are about to run out of gas. Still, I will have an in dash gauge installed one of these days…. Thanks.

These gauges being an aftermarket item are actually made for a tank smaller than a 5-gallon Yamaha tank. If you don't have or want a dash gauge, then this is the best you can do as there is nothing else on the market like this drop in gauge that gives an accurate reading. Understanding that when the gauge shows empty, you still have at least a gallon of gas still in the tank, so your good for at least another 40 some miles.
