Good luck, I asked a golf cart sales place in Ohio what it would cost to send one from Ohio to Florida and they indicated it could be close to $1,000 or less if not using an enclosed trailer. I will be curious to see what you find for a cost? Maybe start with U-Ship?

U-Ship. Online site where you say what and where to and people give you quotes. They will just add your cart to something going the same direction, it may ride with a mover or a tractor trailer independent driver making a run south. Nationally known site. Even did a television series about it.

An older cart like that is probably worth around the same amount as the cost to ship it here. Better off to sell it and by one here.

I have had your conundrum myself. I wanted my cart shipped to MI to get tuned by Yamaha national master, Don Plowman (Plowman’s Carts in Flint, MI). U-Ship was an option, but I was displeased with the offers and options (not enclosed) and worried about how much care they would actually exercise with my cart.
I did not then have access to a box trailer, which would'a been perfect! So, on two occasions I rented a 6X12 open trailer with lift gate from U-Haul. Strapped the cart down with those 2-inch webbing ratchets from Home Depot, Tractor Supply, etc., dropped the windshield, wrapped the windshield area and front end in mover's plastic from Home Depot (because even dust at 60mph will scratch the crap outta Lexan). I tied down the front and rear seats (to prevent lifting in the winds) and added a cable with lock to lock it to the trailer. Then I drove it up and back. A couple years later, I did it again for some additional work. Seems my gas (time is free due to retirement) and trailer rental and a hotel for a few nights all cost less than having it shipped professionally or via U-Ship. Bonus: Great adventure with some new and fun experiences.

Try Michigan Auto Transport - 248-357-4553 One of the top rated companies in Michigan - don't know if they move golf carts though.

Have you checked the height to ensure it will fit in the tunnels. Had a a friend that shipped one from Ohio and it was 3 inches to tall and the cost was over $300 to lower it

I’d rent an enclosed cargo trailer one way from U-Haul and tow it up north behind my truck. It would cost about $150.

They generally will not fit in a U-Haul enclosed cargo trailer. Sure, the largest is 6X12, but the door into it is 5'4" wide and 5'1" tall.

I too wonder. Rolls is missing an opportunity. Far as your suggested engine swap. Does Walmart carry the booster springs.
