First things first. Are your lights working? If not likely a blown fuse. If they are working always go to the battery. The only way to tell is a load test to determine if the battery has the amps to turn it over. After that it could be foot pedal switch, solenoid, or a couple of other items. I always go to the battery first. Even if your lights working it doesn’t mean the battery is good. Quietechs are notorious about killing batteries because of the heat that gets trapped in the engine bay.

And if he gets it fixed quick enough, he and his kids will get out of dodge just in time to avoid the heat ray!!

I had the same problem. It turned out to be that a wire connection to the solenoid came loose. Simple fix.

I wish the poster would get back and tell us what fixed this issue.

Sorry for the delay. Thanks for all the suggestions. Lights did come on. It was not in neutral; it was either in F or R. You would push the gas while in either and nothing...no engine sound or anything.
Had repair technician come by today. It was a bad battery. Replaced and running great! Again - thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. Much appreciated. |

lift seat and look for obvious mechanical problems.
last time something like this happened to me, it was wire at the base of the shifting laver (F or R) had broken. It was easy to see. Hope it is for you as well. Good luck. |

What should the voltage be on the aftermarket speedometer display?

To get an accurate reading this should be connected to the battery on dedicated circuit, with a relay to shut it off. I mention this because some of the Yamaha golf carts have a wiring harness that has a 2 volt or more drop to the dash wiring, so if you connect it in the dash your reading will be off. NOTE: this voltage drop is the reason for the battery overcharging, see my post in the DIY and Golf cart areas.
