Default Pet Fencing...Invisible Fencing

I did very thorough research on products and companies to keep my two beagles in the yard. Some products were dramatically less in price than others, yet I bit the bullet and had Invisible Fence of Central Florida install a system in my yard that would allow my pups to go in and out all day and night on their own. The system has worked fantastically! And when I lost one of the collars (very expensive to replace) the Owner of Invisible Fence of Central Florida came to my rescue! They are a first class operation. You get what you pay for!

Hi Joan

I'm glad you are liking your invisible fence and it's working for you. We moved from a fenced courtyard villa to a house. I was very worried about fencing, and what impact invisible fencing would have on our two happy hounds.

We used Dog Watch (352-351-3642). We trained our dogs for a week before the fence was activated. Dog Watch was very, very helpful during the training week, and in alleviating any concerns we had. We have been very happy with the results.

Of course dogs still need to be supervised at all times. Animals can still enter your yard. We have a lot of predators in Florida, and they could easily carry off a small dog. And our 70 lb dog could possibly be enticed to chase ducks or a squirrel. It hasn't happened in four years, but I'm not taking any chances.

Well, the invisible fence has not worked for us . . . yet. My husband intertwined the wire in the hedges. Hopefully, if our shrubs ever grow tall enough, we will have better luck.

Our Dobie jumped the hedge and because she was high up when she jumped, the signal didn't work. Actually, we laughed about it wondering if she was really that smart!

But yes. Invisible fences do work, but I still wouldn't let a dog out without me being there.
