I still used my Logitech Access Deluxe PS/2 keyboard, which came with I believe my old Compaq computer, somewhere around 2001. I had to buy an adapter since PS/2 is obsolete technology on PCs these days, but it works perfectly. The best part about it, I can pop the keys off, wash them, wash the entire keyboard with soapy warm water, turn it over on the dish rack and set it out to dry overnight and it'll work just like new the next morning. I stopped using it maybe 2 or 3 years ago. I don't remember why I stopped using it, it still works, it's in my closet. I'm currently using a Dell L100 manufactured in 2007. The keys on this are also poppable and the keyboard is fully washable. I popped the windows button on the left off though, because I kept hitting it. The keyboard is a TINY bit smaller than what I'm used to, so that key was just too big and in the way.
I've had wireless keyboards before, and at one point when I had a new computer, tried around 8 different models of keyboard before realizing I just really LIKE the feel, sound, and usability of the old-school ones. |

OP, you might find a collector interested in this, try advertising, I have been surprised at some of the stuff people collect.

Forced obsolescence, I have multiple apple devices that still fire up but are worthless because apple no longer lets you upgrade the operating system, and they conveniently no longer support the older systems. Software will not run on an operating system not supported without upgraded security. My perfectly functional iPhone 6 Plus is being forced into obsolescence and will soon have to join two desktop Macs and an older iPad as worthless devices that otherwise would work perfectly fine.

Does that mean they will not work, or not be supported with updates in future? Thank you. |

I don’t have to I just want to. I have no computer and I was bought a new I pad and it sits in closet the last I pad I got for gift I gave away if I can’t do something on my phone then I didn’t want to do it anyway

We only use them for calls and texting, so that is good. Had this phone for a good few years now, and just getting the hang of it. Don't want to start with another one!! ![]() |

Apple has tricky ways of making the performance of older devices very annoying in an effort to push consumers into a new product. We are both still using our 6 pluses, but the experience is becoming increasingly unsatisfying. I am hoping to get another year out of it since I replaced the OEM battery about 6 months ago. |

I use an IPhone 7 for its photo color quality and 11 for everything else. Apple keeps saying how they improved their camera... nope, not in my book. I paint from photos sometimes and the best color are on the 7, no matter how one tries to adjust the newer phones. Newer in my case is definitely not better.
I had an original PC when I turned it on, it took awhile to load. I could walk to the corner store and back first. Last edited by Velvet; 01-04-2021 at 02:33 PM. |

We will keep an eye on it. If it gets too clunky, will have to reconsider. Hate change! |

i upgraded from iphone 6 for that reason to a 12, but my daughter works for apple, so she got a deal. . .
VT, not interested in spending time looking for a collector. I did that with my original MAC from 1981/2 and didn't realize that inside the cover was steve job's signature as part of the molding. i have a 5 year old tower i build which only gets used for taxes, otherwise, stays off line, a personal laptop, a work laptop, a tower case for a server to be built, for the marsh bend home network, my daughter's 10+ year old tower which we built, 10 old used hard drives, which need to be centralized, so I am drowning in computer pahts that i don't need to waste any more time and money in disposing of them. and to the old mac, the only way to the internet is through a modem. . . ![]() ![]() |

![]() In 1989, an mba classmate wanted a new home pc for class, so we went to an IBM store and guys in suits tried to sell us computers, and i was like "its an f* pc, why the suits?" of course, I had a mac since 1981 so I wasn't into suits, we found a custom builder and had his built. kind of shows you why I never made it very far in the corporate world, don't like suits and pompous circumstances |
