Good to know about Paypal. I considered that a safe site but then again, I just had to cancel my debit card because I shopped at Target!

I decided to set up a buffer account and get a debit/check card for that account. Any online shopping that I do will come out of that account. I will only move enough money in to cover the purchase, that way, that is all the money anyone could get. I would hate to go back to using that old stuff again...what was it called?? Oh, yes, CASH!

Notice to Appear,

Hereby you are notified that you have been scheduled to appear for your hearing that will take place in the court of Washington in January 14, 2014 at 09:00 am.

Please bring all documents and witnesses relating to this case with you to Court on your hearing date.

The copy of the court notice is attached to this letter.
Please, read it thoroughly.

Note: If you do not attend the hearing the judge may hear the case in your absence.

Yours truly,
Margaret Smith
Clerk to the Court.

Notice there is no mention of my name in the e-mail. Also is it Washington state or DC? Then it shows Clerk to the Court, in most stated it is known as Clerk of Court and not Clerk to the Court. Now for the name Margaret Smith. Same name of tennis star Margaret Smith Court who won 24 Grand Slams.

Now to top things of I have never been in Washington state and the last time I was in DC was back in 1993 driving on the Belt Way on the way back home after attending a drag race in Virginia.

Here is another thing that I have never heard of, "If you do not attend the hearing the judge may hear the case in your absence." in the US court system.

Be careful out there. Yes I am interested to read the attachment but it has been deleted.

Hi John,

Question Received an Appearance Notice

A couple of weeks ago I received a Court Appearance notice and it was very good technically but I knew that it was a scam. I called the State's Cleark of Courts in the state that it was allegedly from. They said they were getting a number of complaints all over the country and to just ignore it as it is a scam.

Never click on links or download anything from emails that you do not trust the owner of. If you click on a link, you may be redirected to an unsafe website. There is also something called "phishing", which is a phony website that disguises itself as another website and asks for login information. For example, a hacker may send you an email posing as your bank and ask for your credit card information.

Now if an email from an untrustworthy person is sent that tells you to be somewhere at a specific day and time and bring your legal documents with you, then that is a danger to you.

Default Preventative measures

Good job on identifying spam! We would also recommend that you use a second "junk" email address for registering products or giving out on a regular basis. With so many online sites that require an email address, it is better to give them the "junk" address than your personal one. After all, it is pretty much just to log in and register the account. You can always give somebody a new email address. You can never take one back.
