I've had good luck with buying used & refurb units from various places like NewEgg, Amazon.
I can speak to that. I sent back a notebook once right out of the box. Nothing wrong with it, I just didn't like it. Didn't even register it. Someone got a used deal that wasn't even used.

I just wish Apple had a closer office than Orlando.

Their customer service is Awesome!

My hubby got me a iPad and had it engraved with my email address so that if i ever lost it, i could be notified. (provided an honest person found it)

I used it for about 3 mo and found that although it is a great piece of equipment, it did not replace a notebook and that was what I really needed.

i went to the Apple store and told my tale of woe and asked if there were some apps I could install to give me the functions I needed. The rep took it to the back and talked to the manager, came back with the 11"MBA new, in a box, and told me he had just been approved to trade it straight across for me, and because I work in Education (Nursing) he threw in a $100 iTunes gift card.

Now that is SERVICE!! I did not go in looking to make a trade, just to see if I could make my iPad work for my needs and they went the extra mile.

I later saw online that any item that is engraved is not returnable under any circumstances.

They bent the rules and have a loyal customer for life!

Like I said before, If you go MAC, you will never go back!!!!
Apple is a company with real integrity!

I have been using Mac's since 1987. I am using 10 year old Macs, and operate flawlessly

Refresh Computers sells reconditioned ones for less than new...they 're in the strip mall by Spanish Springs.
