Default warning!

be careful of installing updates to adobe flash player...i installed one the other night and must have had malware...i did not sign into any of my pages so this morning i was able to uninstall the last update and now my computer is fine again...thought i would have to buy another one...was told that if you transfer data from current computer to new computer, would probably transfer all viruses as well! that is scary!

I updated it too a few days ago and have had no problems, so I don't think a malware was involved, at least from the Adobe update. I shut down all open programs that I could before I began, did you? It's frequently suggest that you do to avoid any conflicts or file corruptions on installing an update.

Also installed the update without any issues.

I am not aware of anyone having to replace their computer due to a malware attack.

ALWAYS make sure you have decent anti-virus protection.

I use Malwarebytes to scan for malware ... It's free ... Google it - then USE it.

I think you are right. That happened to me as well. An update popped up, not like the usual one that sits in the tray and waits for me to click it. It was as though it wanted me to install the program rather than update it. I was having to go through hoops to do it and decided to abort it because it was suspicious.

You can download a free malwarebytes program on your computer. Just type malwarebytes into the Google search box and select the free version. I have done this also with free Microsoft Essentials for anti-virus protection. Both these programs have protected my computer from invasions.

I run the malwarebytes bytes and anti-virus programs weekly to ensure there is no problems.

I recently loaded the latest adobe update with no problems.

Could you please provide a link, it would be much appreciated. I get several possibilities when I google it.

Bare, here's the link:

Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

When you click the Download link, it'll take you off to a Cnet web site. Not to worry - that's how a lot of companies handle their downloads.

I dumped AVG a while back and started using both Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials (as has been suggested by a number of people). Performance of my machine has improved dramatically (lots of overhead with AVG, it seems) and I've had no issues.

AND....malwarebytes provides excellent, prompt and reliable customer service whether you have their free or paid for pro version.

Malwarebytes was the key to walking me through a process to rescue my severly infected desk top. Several procedures to go through and they were very specific of what to do next each and every time.

After many years of using paid for and free including AVG (for the longest period) I use malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials.....and have had almost no security or malware issues.

Thanks for the download instructions Bill. I've been using Security Essentials and now I will also use malwarebytes as suggested by BTK.

What a wonderful source of information we have in TOTV. Thanks for sharing.

Hmmmmmmm.......odd. If I follow that link then click on the "Free Download From Our Trusted Partner Sites" button in the center of the screen, it takes me right to the 'download.cnet.com' web site.

I realize your problem is solved but if you are at the point of buying a new PC just reformat the hard drive and put your programs back on.
