Default Century Link Prism

Thinking about switching from Directtv to CenturyLink Prism. Anyone have any feedback on the Prism system.

All I know is that it isn't available where I live (Hemingway).

We are short timers (6 weeks) but very pleased so far. We have just TV and Internet, decided not to have a land line.

Make sure it is available in your area. We were by co rd 472 and it was . When we moved 6 blocks north it was not. (must have fiberoptics in the area)

The one drawback, for me, is the limited number of HD streams. You can only have HD on two channels at a time. So, if you're watching HD on one tv and recording another show in HD, all the rest of your programming on any other tv is SD. We have two DVRs and often record shows while watching other shows. With Prism, we wouldn't have them all in HD.

Default issues

We've had it 6 mnths plus. Having freeze up issues, internet shut down, phone OK. Going back to COMCAST I think. Had to fight like hell to get the price I signed for on the one year price freeze, because a rate increase came up.

We are in the process of choosing and as we are going to have a virtual office in the house, we are concerned about the freezing. I have read this in other posts. What is the freezing caused by and who would sign up for it now that everyone says the internet freezes? That would be horribly frustrating if you are in the middle of a project and you lose what you are doing. Comments please as I only want to make one choice and be happy with the outcome. Appreciate it!

I chose Comcast over Century Link because of freezing issues.
Happy so for.

Even though I was told differently by many different representatives at Century Link, only one unit is a DVR and the other boxes are just receivers. You can only pause live TV on the master, the slave units can't. If someone watches and then deletes a recording, it's gone for everyone else. HD channels and recording in HD is very limited.
Nobody at Century Link would give me: what I was getting, for what price and for how long, in writing. I was told anything, even out and out lies and misconceptions to get me to sign up. If you have questions, Customer Support will promise you anything just to get you off of the phone, just hoping that you will give up and just go away. After a lengthy wait on hold, I was told "hang on" and then I heard the infamous dial tone. In the end, I had everything removed after the install was completed when I was told that the features that I was promised wasn't even possible; and so began the second half of the nightmare!!!
My recommendation: Record every conversation and get the first and last names of everyone you speak with. Do your research and ask a lot of questions but be skeptical of the answers and pin them done on every detail. Promises of vouchers, reimbursements or credits can take many many months to be processed, so asked exactly when you will receive them. Then you will be responsible for follow up to be sure that you get them. Don't assume that they will automatically appear as a credit on a bill or as a check in the mail.
The sales pitches and promises are inconsistent, so beware.
GOOD LUCK with these guys!!
