What do you have and are you pleased with service and cost. Comcast keeps upping our bill and we are now considering Dish. A neighbor said because of where the disc was installed, they didn't get good reception. We would like to go
,with Dish, but are worried about reception.

Same here - comcast in less than a year just got too high and we knew we were facing another increase on our year anniversary. We went with Direct and Century Link for internet. I believe Direct is far superior to Comcast with the clarity of picture, the multiple functions the remote is capable of, the music channels, and the price.
Of course the one draw back is loss of signal during a storm. Hasn't been much of an issue during the first month, but we haven't had much of a storm yet. At least my internet will hang in there as long as we have power! Oh and I forgot to mention - their customer service is outstanding. No long waits, informed representatives, that are actually cordial. That is certainly a nice bonus! |

We are in the village of Charlotte. We are served by Comcast and Brighthouse so we changed to Brighthouse and are very satisfied.

I'm cord-cutter snowbird. With all the US and Canadian Networks, the roof antenna up north is more than satisfactory. I found here I could pull in over 30 channels with a small Terk antenna. Unfortunately, NBC wasn't available at all and a couple would drift occasionally. I put the antenna in the attic for a backup and decided to try Dish. I have a snowbird account so I can take the box with me. It's only been 2 months but service has been good, although it did lose signal briefly during the storm a few weeks ago. The new DVRs have 2TB drives and Sling. Primetime Anytime records ALL prime time programming on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, up to 8 days. No need to program, and you can still record two additional shows at the same time. The built-in Sling box lets you watch recorded or live TV on your PC, Tablet, or smartphone anywhere over the Internet.

We are happy with Direct TV quality and programming. Seems pricy, but we have the whole home DVR system, which gets occasional use.
In the few storms that affect reception, we use the menu settings to display the "non HD" equivalent network channels, and they come in just fine for the duration of the storm. |

We have Dish also, and have great reception. The only time we had a problem was years ago during a hurricane! Unless you are heavily covered with trees, I can't imagine having too many reception issues.

I had Comcast for a couple years and they were TERRIBLE. I now have direct TV, have had it for a couple years and love it.

I'll definitely agree with the above comments. Also, if I may add, Comcast's internet service isn't anything as advertised. I have the performance package and it is extremely SLOW. In Yew York State, being a snowbird, I have a basic Time Warner package and the internet isn't only much less expensive but much faster.

I am presently in WV and am in the process of moving to TV this summer. I have been renting the house and comcast has been increasing the cost everytime I get a bill. I have been using Dish Network here for several years and am very satisfied and plan to have them install as soon as I get moved in to TV
