We used to have a Rain soft water softener that was costly to repair. We got tired of repairing it and went with a Water Boss as suggested on TOTV. So far, so good. The only downside is that we were told that we should replace the filter every three months. Instead we've found that we have to change the filter monthly.

Don't understand the need to change the filter sooner with Water Boss. Our filter is upstream of the WB softener. Why do you change yours so often?

I have to agree with the Kinetico! We've had it here in Tampa for 14 years with no problems; AND (very important) it doesn't use a huge amount of salt.

An important thing to know is that a Water Softener won't purify your drinking water it just softens it. So if you buy a Kinetico water softener you will still have to buy a reverse osmosis system for drinking water.
