Several of my neighbors had quartz put in their homes and they raved about Lilly and Leo from MODERN GRANITE, LLC.
Well they gave us an estimate and we were very pleased. We picked out our slab at their yard and waited. What a fabulous job they did. I had my counter lowered to counter height. I wanted it in an orbital shape so that there wouldn't be any sharp edges. We purchased our own sink, Ruvati from Amazon. Lilly and Leo supplied the electrician and the plumber. Then I had requested the slab have no seams and I wanted it to continue as the backsplash. Leo got it spot on with matching pattern. He had several guys bring in that massive slab and we have no seams at all. Cleanup was fantastic and meticulous. Communication was perfect. I get nothing out of this review except to feel good about recommending folks who know what they are doing P.S. Also got both bathrooms done, exquisite. LILLY- 352-455-7966 Licensed and Insured |

I forgot to mention that a licensed plumber be included, as there is typically an air trap in this area and if as noted above the new sink is deeper than the old one this may need to be moved.

We switched our granite to quartz in our last house. We regretted it, would never get quartz again. Many people do prefer quartz, but not me, and we’ve bent there.

Granite is more durable and you can get it with lots of movement (veining) or a little. Burns Woodworking did our kitchen and one of our bathrooms and provided the electrician and plumber and they did a great job. Two of my neighbors have since used them and have also been pleased with their work. Tried to add a photo, but couldn’t figure it out. You can message me and I can send you one if you’d like.

Quartz will burn with a hot pot; granite won’t.

Not true. Here is just one expert opinion. There are many more.
"Is it okay to put a hot pot or pan on a granite countertop? A common question we often get asked is “Can you put hot pans on granite countertops?”. The simple and straightforward answer is no. Our professional team at Kitchen Express does not advise placing a hot pot or pan on a granite countertop for several reasons. While granite is a strong and durable material, it is not meant for such hot temperatures such as holding a pot that was previously on a stove or a pan that was cooking in the oven. Placing such high heat on your granite countertop for only a few seconds will not cause significant damage, but if it continues to be a habit or the item is left on the countertop for a longer period of time, the damage is likely to occur." |

Who would put a "hot pot" or pan, on a counter top?

Regarding plumbers and electricians, do not wait until they show up to ask for their license. This is something that you should discuss with the countertop installer before they start the project. Tell the contractor that you want licensed people to perform this work, and you want their license number to verify it in advance. And, put it in writing. It may cost a little more, but it will be worth it.

We do, all the time.
Our granite countertops in our MD home are 40 years old. Not a mark on them... |

It's sort of like those packages of Tide laundry detergent pods, where they have to add a warning that they're not edible.
Never under-estimate the stupidity of the public. |
