I had Fertigator for 18 months. They were generally reliable, although not without problems. There was an issue with a defective Fertigator unit that sprung a leak while I was up North that took two days to get resolved (water spraying all the while). I'm sure this is pretty rare though, so take it with a grain of salt. They sheared off a couple of sprinkler heads (although to be fair, they fixed them quickly when notified of the problem). It was also difficult to get them to reliably come by to do the shrub trimming, especially during the time we were up North. When my home watch informed me that the work hadn't been done and I called them about it, they claimed that it had. Perhaps it was scheduled, but maybe the crew came out to the house, found we weren't there and took a holiday. Or something. In the end I switched to Falcon Lawn and Pest. It's too early to come to any conclusions as I've only had them for about a month, but they seem somewhat more professional and responsive so far. Fingers crossed.

Update: I've been with Falcon for two months now and I am generally happy with the service. They show up like clockwork every week, do a good job and I get a nice professional invoice in my email shortly after they leave. With Fertigator I never really knew if they had come or not unless I was physically there to witness it. On the other hand, I am noticing some bare spots developing in the lawn that were never there before. Its difficult to know what may be causing that. It could be the drought I suppose. I'm wondering if I need to water more (but my irrigation water usage is already pretty high, 14,400 gallons last month for my corner lot).

I'm with Massey and am disappointed. Will try Dean's next or Falcon....based on Villager recommendations. Thank you for suggestions.

We have tried Deans, Massey, and currently Service Smart. All three are the same, talk a good game, start out ok, but then slide into slipshod work and work routines. So all I can share is who not to use. Still looking ourselve too.

I believe they started out as a family business in central or south Florida and grown all over the state. Never used them but have heard good things about them in the pest control industry.

We have Deans and headed into our 3rd year.....very cooperative, provide good service and if you take their advice your place will look great. No up front cost or contract. You pay when you get the service and can cancel any time. I was a bit hard headed in the beginning and didn't take their advice and had some issues with my stuff. When I finally started to listen my stuff started to look good. What worked in PA doesn't work in Florida, what thrived up there dies down here. Deans will be our provider for a long time.

Is anyone currently contracting with Service Smar AND pleased with them? I understand the business changed hands and is suppose to be better. Their promises sound good but former track record is scary. Curious as to if the new owner has turned their reputation around. Thanks.

Had Deans for 8 months & FIRED them. When I got down here this past Oct. there were fire ant hills in my front yard & it took them 3 days to get out here. Also the eaves of the home were NEVER swept and I had spider & cob webs all over the place.
I am a snow bird so I cant monitor their work.
