Default Need Window Blinds

Hi All,

I just had construction started on a Gardina in Hemingway.
Closing is in late Jan. I may or may not be there for it.
I will be full time.

I was told that I could have someone come in and measure and install
the blinds while the house was still under construction.
I think I would like the 2" wood of flux type on the windows, and the fabric
vertical blinds on the sliders.

Any recommendations on how to go about having this done?
The best companies or individuals to do it?
The best type of blinds to buy?

Thanks for any information.

Calll your salesperson back and tell them to add the blind package to your deal. We ordered it with our home and we are very happy with the blinds they installed. We have a decorator that will dress up the windows in the near future but the blinds are fine for right now. We also ordered the washer/dryer package and it has worked out great able to do laundry the first day there.

As I understand the method of property assessment for tax purposes, the negative about loading up your house with options such as window treatments and washer/drier is that it adds to the sales price of the house and hence the assessed value. Therefore you will be paying taxes on these items for as long as you own your house. If this understanding is incorrect, I'm sure someone with more direct knowledge of this will correct me.

As far as having someone come in before you close on your house to measure and install blinds, according to our sales agent this would not be allowed since until you close, TV owns your home and there are legal and insurance reasons to not allow non_TV contractors to have access to the house. They would allow places like Southern Lifestyles to access the house to deliver furniture because they are owned by TV. Again, I am willing to stand corrected if I got some bum information from our agent.

I am sure you are somewhat right. It would add to the bottom line. But it is sure nice having the pool/spa and birdcage already done. The blinds installed when we walked into the new home. And the washer/dryer ready to go. Heck its just money and the county needs some too. Nothing compared to what we are spending on airfare to come down once a month to use the place.

Thanks for the info.
What you said makes sense but I was told by my agent that I could have the blinds done when the house was almost completed. He said it is open to anyone to walk into while it is under construction. I have friends who live in Beverly Hills and they plan on going through it and taking pictures while it is under construction. I guess I could get them to measure the windows while they are there.

We just had the 48 Hour Blind people from Wildwood do all the blinds in our new house and we were very impressed. It really was 48 hours and the price was very competitive.

Thanks for the info.
Do you happen to have their phone number.

I have compiled a list of 60 business recommendations,
from TOTV members, for various services. This is really
a great site.

Thanks again

Default Window Blinds

We also had the window blinds package in our Lantana. They are very nice and were reasonable. It may add to assessment of house, however, it was so nice to move in and have the blinds already installed.
