Without badmouthing anyone else, we have found Kiley & Sons to be the most honest and affordable, but some minor plumbing jobs can be done by a handyman at a fraction of the cost.

My two cents worth-for free.
Cost-you are better off having several jobs done at the same time. One way or the other, you pay for the person to come to your home and then a charge for the work. So if they are already there the other jobs will cost less. Replacing a sink, a toilet are easy. Last time I did them, my back was 20 or 30 years younger. Oh, and plumbing parts were metal, not plastic. Flexible connectors are far easier than needing to bend tubing, compression fittings etc. Time-I recall changing out our kitchen sink. I bought the best. Cast iron sink porcelain covered. Read that as heavy. The faucet, I put it in and took it out 3-4x. I could not get the faucets to turn correctly. I called the company the next day they were opened. They told me the instructions were wrong-oops. For me days. For a plumber ??? an hour job. Fun? Only if I spin the truth. |

When we had our kitchen counters replaced, the fabricator insisted that we use Mike Scott Plumbing. He said that he had had experiences where people try to save a few bucks by hiring a handyman for the plumbing during a kitchen remodel and have run into problems. He said that if there are issues, Mike Scott stands behind their work and will send a plumber back out immediately to make corrections at no cost. We took this recommendation. Mike Scott did a great job. They showed up the evening before the counter replacement and came back the evening the counter job was completed so that we would not have too much disruption to our use of water in the kitchen. It was not as straight forward as we thought because the drain was in a different position, so some additional plumbing was required, which was beautifully done. Very happy with Mike Scott Plumbing.

I had a leak that no one would tackle. MIKE SCOTT PLUMBING came over at 8pm and fixed my leak, in the dark, for a reasonable price. I certainly will you them next time I have an issue.

I have found a licensed plumber here in TV that I have used at 2 different homes. He has does work for neighbors and they love him. He does high quality work and will save you a lot of money compared to others mentioned in this thread. His name is Chris, 248-330-2721. You will not be disappointed.

I've used Mike Scott Plumbing and Kelly and sons. Both were excellent. Kelly offers a home plumbing inspection, including camera inspection of sewer line. This gives a one year service discount on parts and service charges. Is it worth; that an individual judgement call.
Both did great jobs installing new sinks in two different homes I've owned The Villages. We also replaced all the pop-out shut off valves. |

I had an issue with my guest bathroom toilet a while back...called Kiley and Sons, the person they sent out had no clue, it was the flapper. My husband had already changed it once (the house was less then 5 years old). Kileys changed the flapper, charged me $80. It still was not filling correctly it flushing properly. They came back - no charge, did nothing. Finally called Mike Scott. His person says you have to have a Koehler replacement part not any off the shelf part. Changed it charged me for half a service call. Toilet working fine. Contacted Kiley and demanded my money back and after long discussions finally got it.

KIley and Sons, replaced hot water heater, replaced shut off valves in house, and a emergency Saturday call. Always had experienced professional show up. Costs are inline with other plumbers.

I called the heavy favorite so far, to replace a hose bib. The girl that answered the phone immediately stated that they would need to punch a hole in the stucco wall and replace the entire valve. It needs a new washer (it's not the packing nut that's leaking). A plumber with the correct tools can do it without creating a hole. The leak is capped off until I find a plumber who will replace the washer.
